My AC wouldn't come on 2 months ago. I called a company to look at it. They said that the capacitor had gone out. When they went to replace it, they didn?t have the right size so they used two capacitors instead of one. A month later my compressor went out completely ? burned wires and everything. My question is could the previous fix have caused this latest problem?

Previous fix would not have caused the compressor failure. Most likely the compressor on its way to failing actually caused the original capacitor to fail. The 2 capacitors together is the usual fix when a dual capacitor is not in hands reach.

Condenser fan replaced one year ago, fan not turning but can hear motor

the answer to your problem is most likely the motor start capacitor. A AC motor can run in both directions. The start capacitor is used to cause the current to lag behined the voltage which determines the direction the motor will turn. Its posible the start and run capacitors are in one can. so changing one will change the other. However look for a wiring diagram. Do not asume that both capacitors are wired in properly. They may be fighting one another causeing premature failure.

If the compressors running and the fan is not you should check the fan motor capacitor and check for power at fan motor if power is there you have bad fan motor

I have a 42'

More likely the backlight inverter board has gone out, or power supply for the inverter board went out, those are the two places to look. Check the power supply first for burnt parts, bad capacitors.

AC fan motor keeps burning out bearings

Hopefully they have replaced the start and run capacitors for these motors and they are rated properly by voltage and microfarad specs. These capacitors properly start the motors during each run cycle and are a vital component to the motors well being and operation. Replace capacitors
