When I turn on the treadmill, after runinng for a few seconds, the belt makes a squeaky sound, as if it needs to be oiled up or needs adjustment. What can be done to fix this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The best recommendation and the most inexpensive would be to lubricate it. Do not use a silicone spray or anything with silicone in it. You should us a waxy lubricant or teflon based. Most specific treadmill lubricants suffice. If the sound is coming from the front of the machine then I would check the drive belt that goes from the front roller to the motor. These are 90% the causes of the sound. Lubricating and tightening generally corrects the problem.

How to lubricate a precor treadmill belt?

About This Video

Video about How to Lubricate a Treadmill using Liquid Lube
  • This vidoe will demonstrate how to properly lubricate your treadmill belt and deck. This demonstration is for the application of liquid lube.
  • To begin, clean the deck and belt by loosening the rear roller bolts 10 turns as seen in the video. It is best to loosen each side five turns and then repeat the process.
  • Now that the belt is loose you can take an old towel and place it under the belt as shown in the video. Move the towel up and down the deck, then using your hands pull the belt around half way to ensure you have completely cleaned the back of the belt. Then remove the towel.
  • Open your lube packet and use half of the package to make a half circle on the deck, from the front outer portion of the deck toward the center and then back to the outer edge. Use about half the package for this arc. Now repeat the process on the opposite side. Be sure to wipe up any excess oil as it is very slick!
  • Use your hand to move the belt around some more to begin spreading the lubricant out.
  • Now tighten the rear roller bolts back to the exact amount of turns they were loosened previously.
  • Power on and start the machine and let it run slowly for a few seconds to make sure the belt is staying aligned in the center of the deck area. If it is not centered correctly, make minor adjustments to correct the issue. Tighten the left bolt to move the belt to the right and tighten the right bolt to move the belt to the left. Now walk on the belt for a minute or so to fully distribute the lubricant.
  • This concludes todays demonstration of how to lubricate a treadmill using the liquid lube.

Belt stops when stepped on

sounds like the belt is loose.there are bolts at the back on either side that tighten or loosen the belt.adjust with belt running about 3mph. tighten both bolts about 1/4 turn each while watching the belt to make sure it is centered. give it about 15 seconds after you tighten to see the adjustment that u make.the walking belt should only be able to lift up a little bit like 1 inch. you shouldn't be able to get ur hand all the way under belt (not running of course).

Treadmill displaying temperature over for an mbh fitness.what are the possible causes?

The cause of this problem is because your powerboad need big power (Amp) to turn the motor (and the belt) This usually happens if your treadmill belt is not lubricate well or needs change. So, first try to lubricate your treadmill belt with silicone oil and be sure that treadmill deck is clean. If the problem continues you must change your treadmill belt.

I currently replaced the walking belt on my C954i/C956i treadmill. When I plugged it back in and turned on the power, the treadmill has no power. What could have happened?

Dear Sir:
I can read you trouble, and follow the next steps:
ALIGNING AND ADJUSTING THE RUNNING BELT
The correct alignment of the running belt is critical to the smooth operation of the treadmill. The belt is properly aligned at the factory. However, during shipping and handling or by use on an uneven surface, the belt may move off center and require a few simple adjustments. Before aligning the running belt, check its operation by following the procedure in Checking the Alignment of the Running Belt. If you determine that the belt needs alignment, follow the instructions here. CAUTION: Special care must be taken when aligning the running belt. Turn OFF the treadmill while adjusting or working near the rear roller. Remove any loose clothing and tie back your hair. Be very careful to keep your finger or any other object clear of the belt and rollers, especially in front of the roller and behind the deck. The treadmill will not stop immediately if an object becomes caught in the belt or rollers. Realigning the belt takes a few simple adjustments. If you are unsure about this procedure, call Precor Customer Support (see Obtaining Service.) Take the following steps to align the running belt on the treadmill. To ensure your safety, make all adjustments while the treadmill is OFF. 1. Make sure the treadmill is OFF and the running belt has completely stopped. 2. Locate the right belt adjustment bolt in the rear end cap of the treadmill. (To determine left and right, stand at the rear of the treadmill and face the display.) See Diagram 24. The direction you turn the bolt depends on how the belt is tracking. Make all belt adjustments on the right rear corner bolt using the hex key provided. • If the belt is off center to the RIGHT, turn the adjusting bolt ¼ turn clockwise, which moves the running belt to the left. • If the belt tracks off center to the LEFT, turn the bolt ¼ turn counterclockwise; this moves the belt to the right. Important: Do not turn the adjusting bolt more than ¼ turn at a time. Overtightening the bolt can damage the treadmill. 3. Turn the unit ON. 4. Stand beside the treadmill and press QUICKSTART. 5. If you are prompted for a password, press INCLINE ??¼, SPEED ??¼, SPEED ??². The running belt starts automatically after the 3-second countdown appears on the display. 6. Press the SPEED ??² key until the display shows a speed of 3 mph (5 kph). 7. Walk around to the rear of the unit and observe the running belt for a few minutes. The belt should run centered along the running bed. If the belt drifts off center, you will need to make adjustments. CAUTION: If you hear any chafing or the running belt appears to be getting damaged, stop the running belt immediately by pressing the red STOP button. Contact Precor Customer Support. 8. If the belt needs additional alignment, repeat steps 1 through 7 until the belt is properly aligned. 9. After aligning the belt, press the STOP button and RESET. Turn OFF the treadmill. Tighten any loose fasteners or other components on the equipment. If you hear unusual noises or you feel that the treadmill is in need of repair or service, contact Precor Customer Support. Refer to Obtaining Service.
Finally, check if the power cord is loose, connect it again. a) See if the breaker of Home is tripped? b) See if the breaker of the Treadmill is tripped. If do the Belt is very Tighted! loose a little. Try again.
Thank you in advance, if you need assistance, you can contact me, Blessing. sincerely.

I have noticed a few times that my f3 life fitness treadmill changes pace on me, and so does the incline. i can see it on the monitor, also it has started feeling like the belt is catching or something, or...

It might just need a simple adjustment of the running belt that can eliminate the slipping refer to you owner's manual for the procedure. It will be close to all treadmill adjustments.
Here is a generic procedure for adjusting the belt:
If the walking belt slips when walked on. Run the treadmill @ 3 to 4 mph, walk for a few minutes, Using the allen wrench, turn both rear roller adjustment bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. Then repeat adjusting procedure until walking belt is properly tightened.

Squeaky treadmill

If this is actually emanating for the running belt then their is too much tension on the belt at the end of the belt their are two holes this is where you adjust the tension by using a 1/4" Allen wrench. start unit run it at about 3.0 mph turn the wrench 1/4 rotation at a time counter clockwise on each bolt until the groaning stops know if the belt slips at this point then the belt has been stretched and a new belt maybe required. On the lubrication you will need silicone lube and that can be purchased at iconfitness.com

I have problem with my Proform 575. The motor rotates but the runner does not turn. There is a squeaky noise. Solution please.

It sounds like the belt is slack there should be an adjustment at the rear of the belt at either side of the treadmill usually a hex stud or allen key, if that doesn't help check the drive belt that comes directly from the motor which could also be slack or damaged.
