Unplug the monitor from the computer then turn on the monitor and check if theres any monitor self test. its like diff colors moving around the screen if you see those then it means your monitor is working fine.
check the video cable. try to use a known good video cable and if it worked then you have to check the video card.
or plug your monitor to a diff system.

The standby light is still on

Are you sure it is a standby light? Usually the orange light is showing you it is in fast freeze. Try switching the orange button off and monitor the temperature. The freezer should cycle on and off, not run continuously.

Monitor will not stay on

Generally Monitors have a single light in fron pannel, with dual mode colors as Green and Orange.

Green: Everything is OK .
Orange: Everything is OK, except it is not getting
any signals from computer or other source.

Try with any other monitor with your CPU, it may happen that CPU actually not providing any signal to Monitor. Try checking the "NUM LOCK" button on and off, whether it makes the light on keyboard to flash on or off.
If NUM LOCK is woking OK, there is surely some problme with your monitor and you need to get is checked physically with an engineer.

On button is orange and moniter wont come on

If the PC is on and running and the light is oragne it means your video card is bad or the cable is loose.

Power off your PC (gonna have to hold the button down on PC until it turns off) and then turn off the monitor.

Reseat cables on both ends from Monitor and PC then power back on again and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work you have a bad video card.

Hope this helps

Monitor won't display.

I would suggest that the "Event" that caused the CB to trip has caused ya Monitor to fail.. Probably in the Power Supply, My "Pet" area... lol.. anyway Thats wat I would think. It may even have an internal "Fuse" that has "Blown"?
