Monitor will not stay on

Had a power outage and when power was restored monitor will not stay on. When I press the button the green light goes on for a second and then turns off. Have checked the manual and this is not listed in the troubleshooting section. Is there a reset??? I have turned the computer off and restarted and that has not corrected the problem.

Generally Monitors have a single light in fron pannel, with dual mode colors as Green and Orange.

Green: Everything is OK .
Orange: Everything is OK, except it is not getting
any signals from computer or other source.

Try with any other monitor with your CPU, it may happen that CPU actually not providing any signal to Monitor. Try checking the "NUM LOCK" button on and off, whether it makes the light on keyboard to flash on or off.
If NUM LOCK is woking OK, there is surely some problme with your monitor and you need to get is checked physically with an engineer.

Magnavox 15mf605t/17 15'' LCD HDTV won't turn on

Have similar TV. If it is set to the PC source, it goes into standby when there is no signal, like a regular monitor. Even though the monitor is in standby, you can still press the Source button to change to, say, HD input, and will use the familiar on/off action when pressing Power on the remote.

A little weird, but I've gotten very used to it.
