Replace swollen capacitors if it persist replace back lights especially the ones that have black rings and brittle or cracked ends.
voltage will break down the glass eventually causing need for higher current that drains the rest of the circuit that uses the voltage

Harman Kardon HTS Receiver BDS-5 stopped giving sound when connected to TV/any other device. It was perfectly Ok earlier. What could be the reason

Hello Pramod, ask, through which connection did you connect the TV to the BDS-5, for the HDMI, fiber optic or coaxial?
I suggest you disconnect all equipment connected to the Harman Kardon, also the speakers
Disconnect the BDS-5 from the power outlet, wait half an hour and reconnect it to the power outlet
Then connect the speakers one by one, play a CD or the radio and test if they work, if so, reconnect all the speakers and control the operation
Then, try a different cable than the one you used in the first connection of the TV and check the operation
If you have no results, contact the Harman Kardon representative
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

What cable connects a Dell PC to a Harmon Kardon HK395 sub woofer?

3.5 m/m. Normally it is color coded green. The pink connects the subwoofer to the speakers. Any color will work. Just mark both ends of wire jacks.

I have my telus tv pvr box connected to my harman Kardon BDS580 through HDMI cable. I also connect my playstation to Harman Kardon. The playstation works with no problem but the telus pvr will not show any...

Not usually! Switch HDMI around to see if the problem shows up when reversed. Switch Cables from one device to the other and see if it effects any of the two devices. Try to disconnect HDMI from HK device and go directly from TELUS to TV or what ever device is the final apparatus. I trust the last device is a TV or Computer screen?
