Press the APPS key. Select CtlgHelp, either by pressing the digit/letter in front of the name or scrolling down to it and pressing ENTER. Follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have the old version of Catalog Help and the new version of the operating system, you'll need to download the new version of Catalog Help from http://education.ti.com/educationportal/downloadcenter/SoftwareDetail.do?website=US&tabId=1&appId=164

You can also download the Catalog Help guidebook from the same page.

SOURCE: Change TI 84 OS to TI 89 OS??

And why, pray tell, would you do such a thing? You will ruin your Ti84 Plus Silver Edition and will not have a working TI89. Besides, TI connect will refuse to transfer it.
If you like the capabilities of the TI89 Titanium, buy a cheap or used one on e-bay or amazon.com and spare your TI84PLus SE.

SOURCE: I am using a TI-84 Plus graphical calculator. How do I use my GC (plysmlt2) to solve a derivative? eg. d/dx(x^6+x^4)=0

There is a command called nDeriv( which you find in the catalog. To open the catalog of commands press [SHIFT][0] (CATALOG), then scroll down or press N to jump to the 1st command starting with N.
Highlight the command then press ENTER. The command echoes on the main screen. Type in the function you want to differentiate, type in a comma to separate, type the name of the vatriable (X), then type in the value at which the derivative is to be evaluated. Close the right parenthesis, then press ENTER.
This is what you see with the newer OS that has MathPrint

List 1 and list 2

If you are truly talking about the the TI89 calculator there is no command to set Diagnostics ON. This is a command for the TI 83/84 Plus. In the TI 89, the correlation coefficient is displayed by default in the statistical result screen.
In the Ti83/84 open the catalog: Press [2nd][0] (CATALOG).
Press D, then scroll from there until the line DiagnosticOn. Select the line and press ENTER.

TI-84 Calculator Gives Me the Wrong Logarithm Solution

"log(2)8" means "common logarithm of 2 multiplied by 8".

The TI-84 has three different logarithm functions.
log is the common (base-10) logarithm.
ln is the natural (base-e) logarithm.
logBASE lets you take the logarithm to any positive base.

If you want the log base 2 of 8, you want logBASE(2,8). You'll find the logBASE function in the catalog, accessible by pressing 2ND [CATALOG] ). CATALOG is the shifted function of the 0 key, the ) gets you to the Ls in the catalog.

I can not find the arc key or the INV key

The INV key that you may find on some scientific calculators has, on the TI 83/84/ Plus calculators, an equivalent key marked [2nd].

On the TI83/84 Plus, each trigonometric function has a second marking [SIN^-1], [COS^-1] or [TAN^-1]. To calculate the inverses of trigonometric functions ( arc sine, arc cosine, arc tangent) you press [2nd] followed by the relevant trigonometric function key For example, [2nd] [SIN] displays sin^-1( on the command line.

Unfortunately the hyperbolic functions and their inverses are only accessed through the CATALOG. You press [2nd][0] to open the CATALOG. Then you scroll down the CATALOG list to reach cosh(, cosh^-(, sinh(, sinh^-1(, tanh(, or tanh^-1(.
To speed the search in the catalog, you use the ALPHA keyboard: To reach cosh(, press[PRGM] and you scroll down from there.

How do you use a plus or minus sign on a TI-84

Hi,
You cannot use the ± in the definition of a function. If you need to consider two alternatives, you have draw each function separately, one function as Y1 and the other as Y2. I just checked the catalog of commands, and there is no ±.

Hope it helps.

Well, to answer part of your question, yes... the TI-89 does factor like this. it is inputted like this:

Check the catalog in the TI-84 (which is 2nd-zero) and look under F for factor()
