Its a gas neptune with dryer top. It quit heating so I reset it to factory defaults using the technical manual and the heat came back on but only for one cycle, Top heat works fine. Bottom control panel has some non-working lights. What do I need to do to get it the heat back on?

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Neptune gas dryer center - bottom quits heating shortly after start

You have to be a registered, qualified gas engineer to work on gas appliances. They are just too dangerous and too explosive to work on. A cautionary tale a mile from where I live. I drove through the mess 2 hours later, it made OUR windows rattle!

Normally all the casing has to come off. You vacuum, service and clean whilst you are in there, check belts, idlers and bearings.

Interesting unit, I have never seen one like it! Some video servicing details in the link.

Good luck, check very carefully for leaks with soapy water in a spray.. Open all doors and windows when you try to light it the first time.

Manual

If you remove the top, then the front, there is a technical spec sheet in the dryer itself. It is taped to the side or the rails.

Quits heating

umm. what was original problem that made you change coils to begin?? no heat i would imagine.dont rush to judgement thatyour fix didnt work, if your running the dryer empty to test your repair, its quite possible that the dryer is going to heat to desired temp quickly, and take a while to cycle back on. throwsome wet clothes in machine and test it then.
