... bissell pro heat pet 2x and my brushes won't turn or operate... check the belt belts ok brushes won't turn/rotate turn dial on bottom front on the water tank to ...
On the underside of the unit, you will see a red cover about 1 inch square held on by a phillips screw on one end of the brush roller unit...remove it & you will see the toothed rubber agitator brush belt.
I had the same problem. I found that when I took the belt door off, the belt was fine. I turned it over and took the red retainer arm out and then removed the screw on the white brush holder, the toothed belt was fine also. Somehow the machine had grabbed a carpet cord and wrapped it around the pulley where the toothed belt and the flat belt both attach. The spindle just wouldn't turn. After removing the carpet thread, everything worked fine again.
Hi! Your question has come up under Bissell ProHeat, although you don't actually specify that model. Assuming it is, the belt change operation is quite simple but hard to describe in words (it will sound much more complicated than it actually is, and is further complicated by the fact that there are two different belts, one on each side of the machine!)
Your best bet is to go to the Bissell website (www,bissell.com), find your exact model, and then you can download the user manual which shows you, with illustrations, exactly how to do it.
Good luck! I value your feedback. If this has helped, please remember to rate me.
