If your charger is functioning good and you have checked for proper voltage at the tip. should be 18.5 to 19 volts. Then most likely your battery has dead cells and will no longer accept a charge. These laptop Lithium Ion batteries do not do good with being run all the way down and then recharged back up. it destroys them, they are only good for so many recharge cycles before they fail. Laptops should be left charging all the time when near an outlet and only should be used on battery when an outlet is not available. Change out your battery and everything should be back to normal. Ebay has them for around 36.00 US dollars.

My acer iconia8 will not charge and will not turn on. Been charging for days.its in really goodcondition

Two possibilities come to mind. Your charger croaked or the plug-in port on the laptop went bad. Either would keep the machine from powering up if the battery was dead. Does the power light on the charger come on? How about the charge indicator on the laptop itself?

You don't need a battery installed if you are plugged into AC. It should boot if the charger and port are OK. If they are, and it still won't boot, you have other problems.

Chargers are cheap, but repairing/replacing the charging port can run upwards of $100. And it takes a good tech to do it without damaging the motherboard.

Laptop won't charge. Replaced battery and charger and still does not work.

Please check the connector / port where u plug-in the charger. Does it happen with all other compatible chargers or only with the one you have. Also try charging some other compatible laptop with the same charger. If that works, it means there is some problem with the port. Its not making the connections well.

Hp pavilion dv6000 battery not chargering

First try to reset the battery to see if it helps any by doing the following: Turn off all power saver settings on your laptop, disconnect the laptop for the ac adapter. Then use your laptop and run the battery down ignoring any low battery messages until it dies. Then let it fully charge for a night without turning it on, and see if it has saved any charge. If it still hasn't saved any charge, it seems like the only option is that its a dead battery and needs to be replaced. Best of luck!

HP Pavilion dv6000 plugged in not charging, I have a new battery.....PLZ Help.

Its the DC charging jack that you plug the charger into on one of the sides of the laptop. Do a google search, go and search for "HP dv6000 DC jack problem charging" (leave out the quotes) and you will see this is a common issue with the dv6000 and laptops in general. Many will just replace the whole laptop motherboard as the DC jack is attached to the board. If you know what you're doing, you change out the jack, quick repair job and keep your own board, but fixed. I would fix it if it were mine. You may be able to find someone local online but if you need someone to do the repair, I'm in the repair directory, as are many others qualified.

Note: It may come to a point, or the situation may just fit better to replace the entire board instead of the port alone. This is usually when the jack is not seated and easily replaceable, or if you are under warranty, HP will replace the whole board.

Ive had the same problem with my laptop, one day it just stopped charging. I would put in the charger and the blue light on the side would either be very dim or not show the blue light. I had to either...

Hi,

If you have multimeter then check the output voltage of the charger, if charger is not working then replace it, if charger is working then there must be a problem with mother board, try to contact some reliable repairing engineer.
