My product key is invalid.......... pls help . the product key given at the bottom is invalid when i typed it to the microsoft office

If you are trying to put the product key from the base of the laptop for microsoft office, it would not work,because that is not the key for the office product. It is for the windows OS. If you have the original office cd or DVD , the product key would be on a sticker on the cd or dvd case. If you have lost the product key , you would have to call microsoft from and read the serial number from the original cd, the serial number is located on the inner ring of the shiny surface of the CD.
Unless you give this number they would not validate office .

If you are using the key on the bottom of your laptop that is the problem. You need to find the key that was on the box or the packaging for the software.

If you did use the key off the packaging then you need to contact Microsoft and get a new key!
