I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. When I upgraded from Vista to 7, my webcam stopped working. I have tried to download a new version of HP Mediasmart Webcam Software, but it still isn't working! Please help!

I have an hp pavilion dv6...i know how to open my webcam and it usually works just fine when i take pix or when i use it to video chat on skype. today it stopped working. when i open my webcam it says that...

Windows Vista and 7 ( can't remember about XP ) come with native drivers for the webcam so it may be a problem with these. You could try running a system file check by browsing to all programs, accessories, right click on the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. Type in the following command and hit return. sfc / scannow
If that doesnt work download and install the software driver for your webcam on the link below. http://www.downloadsource.net/d16952/HP-Pavilion-Webcam-Driver-Windows-Vista-x32-x64/ i hope this works for you.
