In my computer it sees the dvd player, but when i put in a dvd or cd it does not play

You have to close the session before the CD will play in anything else but the PC that made it.

There is a difference between a CD "music usually or data" and "DVD". Some players/computers only play CD's. Some are DVD/CD players/writers. Which is yours. If you have a CD player, it will never play a movie. Put in #1.a CD and try. If it works good. Then put in #2. a DVD it might not be a DVD player. Past that it would be a defective player. Get a lense cleaner disk at y computer/variety store". Insert it in your computer and run the program.lay a movie. If it is scratched or dirty. Clean and try again. on system start up time press F8 key for no of times.you can see some option from that you can select repair and continue with options given

it all depends on the CD's your using. some CD's will not play on some players. try DVD-R blank disc, this may make a difference. try one to see ! I ran into the same problem a while ago! it depends on the player itself, DVD-R 4.7GB data 16xspeed. this should work if player is compatable with it.

Try to check the data cable of your dvd player.

The computer has to be told to play the play the CD or DVD automatically if that is what you want. Go to the Control Panel, and find Hardware and Sound, look around for the DVD and CD settings, and change them to play automatically.

2 questions. Did you finalize it when you burnt it? Did you record it as video dvd or a data dvd?

When you put the DVD in, you mean it will not launch the appropriate player to start playback of the video?

Maybe your autoplay settings are messed up.

Try launching your movie playback software and attempt to manually play the disc and see if this works.

Another thing, is your drive listed under my computer?

put the CD back in the casmcorder, and hook up the camcorder to your tv. put a blank disc in your dvd player and play the small disc through the camcorder on the tv. while the camcorder is playing the recorded stuff, press record on the dvd player and it should burn the stuff onto the blank cd.
