How can I reset the Baumatic BFD60SS dishwasher? The door was opened during a wash cycyle to put another item inside .. but the machine clearly became confused and wouldn't carrybon. I have drained the water which was left but cannot persuade it to work now.

this happened with mine and it turned out that the top shelf was too low, so this meant the spinning arm was being stopped by my plates. When the machine is fully loaded check that the spinners can move freely. if they don't then you can move the top shelf up a level. hope this helps
Water from the wash arms must be able to reach the detergent cup during the wash. It sounds as though the machine may be over-loaded during the wash and water does not cause the detergent to mix with the wash tank water. Try washing a cycle with nothing in the machine. Does the detergent still stick to the door?
If no, the machine is overloaded. Wash fewer items or smaller items so spray will contact detergent.
If yes, you have probably lost wash pressure. Clean all screens and jets.
Hope this helps,
Kermit
Is the water draining out of the machine? if not does it drain when you lower the pipe to the floor, if it does you need a new pump, if it doesn't you have a blockage.
Before buying a new control unit, try to unplug the machine for few hours and plug it back in.
It might reset the control panel and solve your problem.
Good luck!
here is the link to the manual if you need it;

I couldn't find anything that suggests a solution in the book. check this thread below for the reset procedure for another model - it may be worth trying;

other than that it sounds like the control circuit board has problems. unplug your machine and wait half an hour. undo the control housing by a few screws on the top inside of the door and maybe plastic clips moulded in the edge of the housing. look if any components on the board are obviously burnt or water damaged - sometimes they fail without visual signs but you might spot something.
If you fancy replacing the board yourself, just make sure you take a picture of how it was wired up, and post me back the serial number and manufacturer on the board and i will try and source one for you - these boards on their own are rarely that expensive and are often in a lot of other manufacturers models so are usually easy to find.
Hope this helps :)
