I do have a toshiba Satellite L300D and No full power or no display . the power only turn on but no booting . I am just wondering what could be the problem. In fact this happened only after I tried to fix the AC Power adapter by by soldering the broken part. And I think I made a mistake by twisting both the positive and negative wire. i.e I suppose to seperate the wire by tube or electrical tape.

As per your descritption, it might be due to AC adapter problem which is not giving enough power to notebook to power on. However, try to power on the notebook only on battery power or alternate AC adapter. If it does not turn on, then it might be due to motherboard problem due to some short circuit in the AC adapter.

Additionally, please perform the below steps before trying the above procedure:

1. Shut the computer down.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery.
3. Press the power button down for about 30-60 seconds.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and the battery.
5. Restart the computer.

Installed wrong update bios for Toshiba Satellite L300D

You may have killed your laptop. BIOS have little to do with an OS like Windows, Linux, etc. The display issue is the culprit. Using another computer go to Toshiba website a get the current BIOS for your laptop. Are you able to access the BIOS at all? (press Del during bootup? to enter the Config screen (looks like DOS)

Problems booting windows vista on toshiba satellite l300d. ''Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change may be the cause''. My Toshiba had viruses so i restored it with the hdd recovery...

You may need to re-install the operating system all over again as you had tried to restore your computer using Restore Disc but failed. In these cases, you will have to try to wipe all your data and install OS once again.
