No running the vista shouldn't have anything to do with it because I have a Dell AIO924 and I brought new ink from them and minds don't recognize the color ink at all and I'm running windows xp. I think it has something to do with Dell and there products. They can't help nor suggest any, They need to really go out of business. No running the vista shouldn't have anything to do with it because I have a Dell AIO924 and I brought new ink from them and minds don't recognize the color ink at all and I'm running windows xp. Sounds like a new cartridge is in order. I would buy an OEM cartridge as the first one just to make sure that it's not something else wrong. Also, run the deep cleaning for the heads to clear the nozzles.
After market inks sometimes are not up to specs. You might try LDproducts.com. I've had excellent results with their inks.Let me know is the problem goes away. Thanks.
Perhaps the printer does not recognize that a mono/black cartridge is installed. Remove the mono cartridge and check to see that tape is removed then re-seat firmly. Unplug the printer from wall power to reset. Then try again.
go to your printer settings on the printer software interface, and there should be an option to say that you have installed new ink cartridges, otherwise just re-intall drivers
To get rid of the low ink warnings google the specific error message with 'ink refill' and look for 'engineers reset' or similar ..
NB. Dell printers (re-badged Lexmarks) are notorious for ink usage and
high costs .. so my best recommendation would be to throw it away and
purchase something else ..
