Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check that the CDs are not scratched. Now run a lens cleaning CD. If that does not work then you have to open the unit and clean the lens with a Q-tip dipped in alcohol. This is only recommended when the unit is not under warranty and you have some expertise in the field. Please check whether the CD turns before moving to the next CD, CD moves freely and lifts into position. If still the issue is not resolved then the lens is required to be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Mac Sony HDR-SR11 MTS to Avid converter-Convert AVHCD to Avid I have Sony...

Mac Sony HDR-SR11 MTS to Avid converter-Convert AVHCD to Avid

I have Sony HDR-SR11 AVCHD HDD camera to shoot family videos and beach videos. However, after I transfer .mts files from Sony HDR-SR11, Avid does not support the AVCHD file. I wonder the best AVCHD workflow into Avid from Sony HDR-SR11 and google for solutions.
I was recommended with Sorenson Squeeze to convert Sony HDR-SR11 MTS to Avid DNxHD codec. However, Sorenson Squeeze does not natively support .mts and the file extension should be changed to .m2ts. The conversion time is much longer than that the original clip. One thing should be mentioned is that the exported DNxHD is loaded quickly to Avid. Sorenson Squeeze also costs quite a lot. I just find a better Mac Sony HDR-SR11 MTS to Avid converter - Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac. The price is dramatically low comparing to Sorenson Squeeze, and the output MOV video works in Avid MC and Xpress Pro.
Here is how I import Sony HDR-SR11 camera videos to Avid Media Composer by converting 1920x1080 MTS to HD MOV.
Step 1. Load Sony HDR-SR11 videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the Mac Sony HDR-SR11 MTS to Avid converter on Mac Snow Leopard, and click the "Add" button to load HD .mts videos.
Step 2. Choose AVC MOV for Avid.
Click the "Format" option, and choose Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov), and the Sony MTS to Avid converter will transcode the HD MTS files to MOV for Avid MC, Xpress Pro.

Step 3. Convert Sony HDR-SR11 AVCHD to Avid.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Sony MTS to Avid Converter will start converting HDR-SR11 AVCHD MTS to HD MOV for Avid Xpress Pro, or the upgraded Media Composer 5.
As soon as the conversion in finished, you can import Sony HDR-SR11 videos to Avid Media Composer, Avid Xpress Pro for editing. The output HD MOV also works in Final Cut Pro and iMovie, and other non-linear editing software like Adobe Premiere on Mac OS X.
If you are using other Sony AVCHD cameras, you may also face the same problem. Have a look at the Sony HD camcorder page for Sony HDR-XR520, HDR-CX110, DSC-TX7, HDR-TG7 and other models.

Gateway NE56R28u

The Windows 8 Gateway laptop it shows the Gatewy logo but underneath the logo it says "Preparing automatic repair"
Then it goes to a blue screen that says "Your PC needs to be repaired A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed . Error code: 0xc0000185 you'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media" .
You need to create a Windows 8 boot USB on another Windows 8 machine.

Follow the steps below to create a Windows 8 Recovery Drive:
On someone elses windows 8 machine! Does not store personal details.
Difficulty: Easy
Items Required: A flash drive, empty or that you're okay with erasing, with at least 500 MB of capacity
Time Required: Creating a Recovery Drive in Windows 8 should take under 10 minutes.
Applies To: You can create a Recovery Drive this way in any edition of Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.
Here's How:
1.Open the Windows 8 Control Panel. Windows 8 includes a tool to create a Recovery Drive and it's most easily accessible from the Control Panel.
2.Tap or click on the System and Security link.
Note: You won't see System and Security if your Control Panel view is set to Large icons or Small icons. In your case, just tap or click on Recovery and then move on to Step 5.
3.In the System and Security window, tap or click on the Action Center link at the top.
4.In the Action Center window, tap or click on Recovery, located at the bottom of the window.
5.In the Recovery window, tap or click on the Create a recovery drive link.
Note: Tap or click Yes if you're prompted with a User Account Control question about the Recovery Media Creator program.
You should now see the Recovery Drive window.
6.Connect the flash drive that you plan on using as the Windows 8 Recovery Drive, assuming it's not already connected.
You should also disconnect any other external drives, if only to avoid confusion in later steps.
7.Check the Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive checkbox if it's available.
Note: This option is usually available on computers that had Windows 8 preinstalled when purchased. If you installed Windows 8 yourself then this option probably isn't available which likely isn't an issue since you probably still have the original Windows 8 disc, ISO image, or flash drive that you used when you installed Windows 8.

8.Tap or click on the Next button.
9.Wait while Recovery Drive Creator searches for drives available to be used as a Recovery Drive.
10.On the Select the USB flash drive screen, choose the drive letter that corresponds to the flash drive you want to use as a Windows 8 Recovery Drive.
Note: If no flash drive is found, but you do have an optical drive, you'll see a Create a system repair disc with a CD or DVD instead link at the bottom of the window. Touch or click on that if you'd like to complete that process, which I explain for Windows 7 here. That tutorial applies perfectly to Windows 8 as well so long as you start it at Step 3.

11.Tap or click on the Next button.
12.Tap or click on the Create button to begin the Recovery Drive creation process.
Important: Please take note of the warning on this screen: Everything on the drive will be deleted. If you have any personal files on this drive, make sure you've backed up the files.

13.Wait while Windows 8 creates the Recovery Drive, which involves formatting the flash drive and then copying the necessary files to it.
Depending on your choice in Step 7 above, this process could take anywhere from a few to several minutes.
14.When the Recovery Drive creation process is complete, you'll see a The recovery drive is ready message.
Tap or click on the Finish button.
Important: You're not done yet! The most important two steps are yet to come.
15.Label the flash drive. Something like Windows 8 Recovery Drive should make pretty obvious what this drive is for.
You should be able to use this to boot your Windows 8 PC, using the system restore partition on your pc.

Installed pro tools 8 on macbook pro. when i try to open pro tools it says the hardware cannot be found. mbox2 is connected but the usb light is not on.

I had this problem as well... If this is a 2011 macbook pro you have os 10.6.7 which is not supported by avid at this time. We actually need to down grade to 10.6.6. You installation cd with your macbook pro is 10.6.6, so you'll need to install that, then go to the avid website and download pro tool le 8.0.5. Everything should work fine just don't upgrade to 10.6.7 until it has been approved by avid. If you need detailed steps look at the avid forum for pro tools. Step to uninstalling and installing the os can be found on youtube.com... Do not have your mbox plugged in when you install pro tools. I hope this helps!!!

DAE error -1115

You haven't stated your problem, aside from the error code. Please include the hardware setup, computer and Pro Tools version and plugins you are using. Also include your experience with the setup; was it working at some point? etc.

I run PC and Mac versions of this system, and I have had to go as far as to enter the computer CMOS setup to sort out problems. Pro Tools issues can be caused by many aspects of your hardware and software setup.

I know it can be tedious and time consuming, but have you tried to access the Avid (Digidesign) site's Q & A locations? You may have to do this if the solution to your problem is not immediately apparent.

Most of all, if you are not running properly registered software, with a user account on Avid, you are asking for problems here. Cracked versions of the program and plugins can cause unresolve-able problems.

Try these Pro Tools related sites to see if they offer some help.

MBox 1 Compatibility with new Macbook Pro Unibody and OSX 10.5.6?

unfortunately any pro tools application below version 7.4.2 is not compatible with leopard and I don't think you can use mbox 1 with the universal mac I may be wrong but I wanna say I tried a while back and even garageband wouldn't find it anymore but you can check for sure by going to the applications folder then open the utilities folder in there is an application called "Audio Midi Setup" and you can select the mbox in there if you see it but if not there is no patch or driver that I know of to get it working unless you upgrade pro tools which if you do upgrade I suggest getting mbox 2 and getting LE with it
