Getting a C 13 70 disc is dirty message only for DVDs that I'e burned recently. I bought a new pack of blank DVDs, the same kind I've always used, but every movie I burn on these new ones, they...

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

Was this player playing previously? And how long have you been using this player? I suspect the lens of the player. Once the lens of the player becomes weak, it won't play discs any longer.

The first thing my mind goes to, is the lens. The lens id responsible for reading/loading data on discs. So if the lens is unable to read the disc, there is no way the player is going to play the disc.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or probably, a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

Good luck.

My dvd player won't read my dvds. it attempts for about 30-60 seconds and then reads "no disk"

The laser is either dirty, or out of alignment or possibly too weak to read the disc. Try one of the laser cleaning disck with an alignment check I believe that maxell sells these, if you can't find one then a repair technician can adjust or clean i, but if the laser is no good then it will need replaced. Might be better to replace the unit before having a tech work on it or your costs will exceed a new unit.

Hardly used it & now it doesnt recognize any dvd any clue what could be wrong

Laser eye reading buble, might be dirty, reqiure cleaning or having problems with those DVDs disc's itself like dirts, grimes or cracks and big scratches on those DVDs disc's laser shinning surfacing data's reading side?Check all ur DVDs disc's again u are using, might just require a good cleaning on DVD's discs on the reading data's shinning surface sides, with some dish washing soap?If the DVDs disc's are not the problems.Tries websites like Ebay.com,Amazon.com to buy a DVD disc cleaning kit.By using the DVD cleaning disc, might work, might not.But than u don't have to be littery taking the portable DVD player aparts and used some Q tips, dipping in with some rubbing alchahol to clean the Laser eye reading buble itself.

Not reading and playing dvds

You can try cleaning the DVD lens.
DVD just says loading--
This can be as simple as a dirty DVD lens. CAUTION!! The lens is delicate! I wipe DVD lenses with ONE drop of glasses cleaner on a Q-tip and, starting in the center, wipe in circles to the outside. Do not press down! Do not force the lens side to side. It will move while cleaning but don't put more pressure than needed to move the lens 3/4 way down!
Its a cheap test to see if there is a fingerprint on the lens. (You won't be able to see it - does not take much)
If this does not help, it means it needs a laser or worse. Probably just replace the player.

DVD problem

It could be a couple things...
#1. Over time, dust and deposits can accumulate on the laser that reads the disc. In many cases, DVD players with this problem can still read CDs. You could try a DVD laser cleaner, which is usually a disc that has a tiny brush glued onto it. Run the cleaning disc 2 or 3 times, and try it again. Try both CDs and DVDs, since CDs are easier to read than a DVD.
2. After a DVD player has been used for awhile, another common problem is that the laser in the DVD player becomes misaligned, inhibiting its ability to read DVDs. In many cases, DVD players with this problem will still be able to read a CD. I'd try a cleaning disc first, since the only way to fix this problem is to bring the unit to a service center for repair.
Let me know what happens after you get the DVD laser cleaner and run it. Hope this helps.

Philips dvp 3020

This is usually caused by a faulty laser.

Most DVDs have two lasers. One for DVD & one for CD.

Sounds like the CD laser has failed.

DVD player does not read discs anymore

the Laser is most likely defective. most likly it will need replacement. There is no correction that can made to correct the problem except to that of a replacement of the laser
