We have this air conditioner in our sunroom. From the beginning the temperature set is not maintained. When the unit is set to cool no matter how high a temperature I select the unit cuts on approximately every 10-15 minutes and cools the room to about 66 degrees. When set to heat in the winter no matter how low a temperature I select the heat cuts on about every 10-15 minutes and the room will heat to a much higher temperature than selected. Any idea what the problem is and how I can resolve it?

I would replace the thermostat.

First - be sure and un-plug the Air Condtiioner from the wall.

When you 'select' the temperture I am assuming you are doing this with a 'knob' of some sort. This knob will be part of the thermostat - therefore it (t-stat) should be simple to identify.

Note: On some - LED/Electronic units - it may be difficult to identify the thermostat.

If, however, you can easily ID the t-stat - then you will have to dismantle the AC unit enough to get to the thermostat; it will be installed on/in the unit with screws of some type.

When you find the thermostat -- simply take the wires off the connections (these are usually - 'female' type spades that slide over 'male' type connections on the switch.

When you remove the wires be sure you mark them in such a way you can replace them on the "correct" terminals of the new thermostat without getting them mixed up.

It will be essential that the new thermostat - (A) physically fit the slot that the old one did, i.e. you can re-install it as the old one was and - (B) that it will have the connections you need - in order to connect your wires correctly.

If you take the old thermostat to an Air Conditioning Supply house they will probably be able to sell you an exact replacement - but in any event - an appropriate replacement - that will work.

good luck!

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

Ice formed on outside of line!

try running the air conditioner in defrost mode. set the temperature to warmest while air conditioner is on, for about two minutes. then slowly move the lever towards cold, all the while having the vent set on outside air. once you move it toward cooler, move the vent switch towards recirculate from outside air.

when you have it on defrost, open the engine hood and push the air conditioner button. watch the lines and see if they begin to build frost. if not, move the slider toward cold a little bit at a time while watching the lines to see if they begin to build frost. if they do start to build frost at any point after running the defroster in A/C mode for a bit, you can always try positioning the temperature control towards the middle or run only the outside instead of recirculating vent.

We just moved into a rental. It has the Fugitsu wall-mounted Air-conditioner model: ar-jw2 but, there was no manual left behind and we are trying to use the heat, however, it just blows cool air, we're not...

Look, if you select a temperature above ambient temperature, it will switch from cooling to heating.(assuming that the aircon has a heat pump. most do these days.) Just dont rush the aircon because every time you make a setting change, it takes a while to regulate.

Air not very cold. Any advice

Make sure the condenser fan and evaporator fan are running. Check your filters. Make sure the coils are not clogged with dirt or dust. Make sure the compressor is running. Get the refrigerant charge checked.

Having trouble with heat pump.

It sounds like there is a problem with the blower....either the motor itself, the capacitor, a wiring problem or a control problem. If there is a warranty on the unit, have a tech check it out for you.

Let us know if this helps. Good Luck! :-)
