Photos are very light and have lines across them

If this occurs when printing, the heads on your inkjet printer need cleaning.

It sounds like the flashing lights of an airplane going across the sky.

Epsons are notorious for this sort of problem, especially in used infrequently as ink residue dries on the print head; try using a cleaning cartridge, or swab around relevant print head with cotton bud and ethanol/isopropyl alcohol. Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.

Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?

If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.

Your Camera CCD is bad, need to replaced CCD

Could be a weak battery or a sensor going bad. I hope it's the battery.

Your photo ink cartridge may be defective.

Try running the head cleaner function a couple of times.
That should solve your problem.

the glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck

This may be a censor dust issue. Get it checked through Canon service at the earliest.
