Pull the lamp out and have a look at it. I have a tutorial published on projection lamps in my Tips & Tricks. Have a look at it, there's a lot a information in it and towards the end of the tutorial you will find some explanation of failures and what to look for. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
No, the lamp has a burner gap. If it has grown out of tolerance, it will become too large for the lamp to stay lite after it gets hot. When it comes back on shortly after it shuts down, it will stay on for a few moments then go back off. The length of time can vary... depends on the ambient temperature in the room... now that I said that, you may be thinking of pointing a fan at the back of the TV... don't. That creates a positive pressure within the TV... heat doen't get out.

I had the tv on for 2 days this time before it shut off. Can it still be the lamp or is it something else. Please help.
ok so what you are saying is it still may be the lamp. I should replace the lamp and see what happens first.
