My existing windows office 07 is not functioning ,cant make any changes or do anything

You cannot get the full Product key for MS Office 2007. However you can get a trail version of MS Office which is full functional from Microsoft site.

windows 7 actually supports ms office 2007. i am working with ms office 07 with windows 7. if your office 07 doesn't work, try reinstalling the software again and restart your PC. it'll run. unless your software has a problem.

Stop disabling links and functionality in all messages

This is an error that happens when you try to modify or use a document that is locked.
1. Open the document
2. Select the Devloper tab
3. Click on "Protect Document"
4. On the Restrict Formatting and Editing Task Pane on the right side of your screen, Click on "Stop Protection" on the bottom of the task pane
5. If there is no password, you can start using the document

The easiest way is to run the diagnostic check in windows office 07 tools. There is also a office live update page here, http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/HA101687261033.aspx ,that should fix any windows error that you are getting, it may take a while, and sometimes they have to analyze the data, but it's your best bet.

Office 07 default to 2 new extensions instead of the old .doc extension. 07 uses .docx or .docm (m is for documents containing macros).

If the document is just a standard one, you can go into file save as in 07 and save as.. 2000/03 compatible. 07 then saves the document with a .doc extension (this loses some of the nicer formatting 07 introduces but still looks ok). Then you can open the document at home.

did you partition your hard disk? if partition, try installing office into other drive other than drive c or if not partition run the setup again and click customize instead of clicking install, this will give you option to change the path and folder name of office your installing, change folder like MSOffice07 or Office07. This copy office into next hard disk clean blocks.  or
remove any lower version of office installation before installing new version a version conflict on windows office file against new version.
