Did you download online service manual from here?

On canon np printers/ copiers with
E000, E001, E002, E003 CODES
To reset these codes perform the following:
Remove the front panel and be careful not to bend or break the flexible
cable connected to the panel and the DC Controller.
Turn on the copier and short the jumper wires JP3 and JP4 on the dc
controller pcb with a screwdriver.
The count ratio indicator on the control panel turns on 'F'. When 'F'
is turned on stop shorting the jumper wires
Turn off copier and turn it back on and its then reset.
You may need the service manual to perform the repair job above. jp3 and jp4 are written on the board , if you are not experienced in fixing electronics I suggest calling a technician.
Here are Canon error messages
as you can see e001 means fuser thermistore or triac problem.
Usually you do not fix this just unplugging the printer.
The procedure I posted above it is to reset the printer.
When I get this error usually I fix it doing reset procedure above, less frequently the reset does not wipe off the error code, and this meand that you really have to change the fuser thermistore or the triac. In this case start testing fuser sensor, and eventually change it.
Well mine is a solution. I fix those printers!
Just wonder if you are receiving my posts or not.
answer please.
I see that you are confused, I will post solution again all in one go, hoping to clear your confusion

In sporadic occasions you have to change the fuser lamp, I think this is not the case, try doing reset procedure as indicated above first.

so to avoid confusion
Well I suggest calling a technician, In your case it is not something that you fix changing the toner, if it was an easy fix you would have been more replies.
changing the fuser thermistore is not very difficult, but you have to use reset procedure above first, to ensure that is not just the copier board that is going funny, as often happens.
If you have some skill and experience in fixing electronics this is not a difficult job, however, if you have not such experience, then the best thing to do may be calling a technician. Yours is an expensive machine better not to risk.
You do not need to buy the schematics they will be similar to the one I posted above.
Ok , glad you fixed it!

I'm confused? Did I pay $9.99 so a "guru" could tell me to go to a link and buy a service manual. I thought I was going to get possible solution other than to unplug the damn thing. please clear my confusion.
thanks for your reply however i'm not a service tech, I don't even know which is the front panellet alone wires jp3 & 4. should i buy a service manual or just bite the bullet and call the repairman?

Thanks for the advice, it took me all afternoon to get info however once I did the reset was simple
Ginko
Here's the lowdown in simple terminology that I extrapolated from the service manual Page 3-93.
E000 E001 E002 E003 E004 E007 Remove the cause & clear the back-up data as follows
1] open the front door and insert the door switch actuator.
2] press the power switch while holding down the service mode switch(sw302) on the DC controller with a hex key (or a straightened paper clip)
3] the power should go off in about 2 sec. turn power back on
4] Walla, Bingo it works, I'm a Guru
It took me a lot longer to download the service manual and find page 3-93 than it did to reset it.
I don"t mean to be a smart #** and I'm sure you are very good at what you do, the method you described might have worked but this is the practical terminology I was looking for.
Thanks
