Frequent interruptions of washer

The motor of our 3-4 year old washer started to run in intervals every few seconds and then stops unlike the usual continuous run to complete a cycle. Is there aa reset button I need to push or is it the end of this washer? The Whirlpool washer we had prior to this one lasted 11 years. We are concerend but we need asistance.

This is most likely the brushes on the motor. Intermittently failing due to wear and tear. I *could* be the motor but the brushes are very cheap in comparison.

On most washers the brushes are < £20. Time to fit is less than 0.5 hours.

You have three options

1/ If you are or know someone who is very technical and confident - once you have the right parts should be able to install them. (Unlplug the unit before touching!!!)

2/ If you have a service contract use it, they should provide parts and fix.
3/ A service engineer is your last option - say £90 callout + parts. (On certain washer units parts are free up to five years old - but you have to pay the call out fee)

Please dont forget to rate me, thanks!!

10 year old Seiko Kinetic (model5M62-0B00) blue face. Last week stopped and after some shaking started again but seconds moved in 2 sec intervals for a few hours. Went OK for a week and again last night...

After 10 years it will be likely that the Kinetic capacitor will need upgrading. Your watch is designed to tick in two second intervals to tell you the power is very low. The power button will work again when it has some power to show. Yorkshire Watches www,yorkshirewatches.co.uk can do the upgrade for you if your in the UK. Give them a ring.

Ours's a hp color laserjet 4700dn ; the message is 59.30 error ; we bought the machine in the year 2007 what do you suggest?

59.30 states it's the:Fuser motor startup error
Based on the service manual here are the steps to follow:
Fuser motor error
1. Reconnect the connectors J4605 for
the fuser motor and J1024 on the DC
controller PCB.
2. Run the component test to verify that
the fuser motor is working correctly.
3. Replace the fuser motor.

How to preform the component test below
1. Press Menu to enter the MENUS.
2. Press to highlight DIAGNOSTICS.
3. Press to select DIAGNOSTICS.
4. Press to highlight COMPONENT TEST.
5. Press to select COMPONENT TEST.
6. Select the component test Fuser motor. Use this test to rotate the fuser motor and drive gears.
Menus cannot be opened during component tests, so serves the same function as the Stop button.

More information on a Fuser motor failure detection
  • The DC controller determines the fuser motor failure and notifies the formatter of an error status when it encounters the following conditions.
  • Fuser motor start-up abnormality. The interval of the fuser motor speed detection signal does not reach the specified interval after 1.5 seconds of the fuser motor drive start.
  • Fuser motor rotation abnormality. The interval of the fuser motor speed detection signal stays at an irregular interval for two seconds and longer after it reaches the specified interval.

I've attached a screen shot of where the fuser motor is located It is # 8. tballone.png

I HAVE AN OLD, ABOUT 15 YEARS,PRESSURE WASHER MODEL 270M. RECENTLY IT STARTED TO PULSATE WHEN I ACTIVATED THE WAND CONTROL. IT PULSES AT THE RATE OF ABOUT 1 SECOND INTERVALS. IT WILL NEVER STOP AND RUN. I...

To me this problem sounds like there is something wrong with the pump.
I think its better to buy another Karcher machine and get the 12 month warranty. As with old pressure washers you could spend money on certain parts to fix the machine but a few weeks/months down the line a different part of the machine could break and then you end up having to buy a new machine anyway.

Also being 15 years old you would have to check to see if parts are still made for the machine. This is because once Karcher discontinues a machine parts for that machine are manufactured for 10 years from that discontinue date.

Dishwasher began running very loudly with noises about 1 month ago.Cleans ok. Had been very quiet, with long cycles.

1.Could be the motor getting ready to go but if the unit is not too old then this is unlikely. Did you check the security of mount of the motor?
2. The pump impeller on the motor shaft could be starting to fail. The impeller problem usually starts with some hard debris getting trapped near the impeller and the rubbing upsets the balance and the plastic part fails.
3. The impeller is hitting debris as it pumps water and if you remove the debris the problem might stop.

If you can please provide the exact brand and model number of your washer . i would be able to help you further

Top loading Kenmore washer runs for a few seconds then shuts off

It's quite possible, however,

If you're mechanically inclined, I'd check the motor, transmission and pump first.

See the following Whirlpool / Kenmore Service manual for top load, direct drive washers and it's trouble-shooting section.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

See the following for how to pull the cabinet, pump, motor and transmission to check them all.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PULL THE TUB.

Hello ashankhan,

You said,
I have GE Madellion 870 Washing machine
I guess I have motor problem
motor stops after smoke
Now Motor spins for few second then stops
after 15~ 20 minutes, it will run again for few seconds
if my motor burned then why it still runs for few seconds.

The motor is shot and it still works until it heats up, and then it binds up after it over heats!
