My CD player stopped working...acts as if it is not getting power. When I push the CD button on the receiver, ''CD'' displays on the LED for a second then goes out. I just disconnected all the components and cleaned everything, then removed the cover of the CD player and was able to release the 6 CD cartridge and get the CD's out that have been hosage there for a couple months. I could not release the single CD drawer and remove that CD. After cleaning and reconnecting all components, the problem remains. CD player will not power up.

Sadly I think the control and output chipset have gone and unfortunately aren't really worth fixing. You can get replacement parts, that aren't that expensive, but if you don't know what you are doing it's a mine field. To get someone else to repair it would probably cost the same as buing a new one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

Testimonial: "Thanks,I agree it is probably not worth getting it fixed...just hoped it would be something I was overlooking."

I have a stanton-vestax cd-11 dual cd player, and was wondering how to get a cd to play on it. I put one in, turned the player on, pushed all the buttons and nothing happened. how does it work?

I have had one of these for many years: Switch it on, you must make sure the two transit screws at the back of each deck are fully unscrewed and loose, let the machine displays settle down, then insert a CD, then press the 'reset' button. There is a built-in delay of about 11 seconds before the deck begins to read. After this the machine should then display the first track number, and pressing the big red button will start play.

Pressing the 'reset' button again stops playback and the CD spins down, but if you leave the CD in there it will eventually re-index and cue up again. This feature is to enable fast, one-button CD changing and it works very well in practice, as the 11 second delay is enough time to take one CD out and get another in there before it tries to read it again.

To stop playback just press the 'reset' button (this is the most used button!) and take out the CD. After the delay, the machine will try to read a CD as normal, but display 'no CD' on the display. There is no stop button, as this unit was designed for continuous use in a club or disco.

Hope this helps. :)

if it displays "power IC damaged ,your CD player is as good as DEAD.

Hold down the Display/Menu function button (one of those three buttons on the left of the unit) for about 3-4 seconds until the display reads "t set". When this appears, push the track forward button once (>>|) so the display reads "beep"; now press the play pause button (>||) once. The display will now say "on", push the track forward button (>>|) once to make it read "off"; now push the stop play button. You're done. Enjoy the silence.

Power will not stay on

Sounds like you're not getting voltage on the accessory power lead. This is the red wire at the back of the deck, and it supplies power whenever the key is switched on. It's possible that your vehicle's radio fuse is blown.
