can you read? it is soldered down.
it is not a coin cell it is special rechargable battery.
if the PC keeps time of day ok in BIOS, best is leave it alone.

Toshiba Satellite a305 s6898 stuck on start up repairs...attempting repairs

The windows files are corrupt or the hard drive is defective, if it won't allow repairs, do a fresh install of the operational system from scratch if you have a disc, if no change, have the hardware checked for possible replacement.

Assuming there's a good input from the battery or the charger. If there's no activity,bios screen or boot screen. Then you motherboard has probably failed.

You will need the Mass Storage Drive to be able to read memory cards. Go to the Toshiba download center here:

Search your laptops serial number at Laptops>>Satellite>> and download the mass storage driver.

Heres a step-by-step guide on disassembling a Satellite A305. You should find access to the bios battery somewhere along the lines of this tutorial.

Remember to be very careful, and make sure to ground yourself or wear an anti-static wristband because the parts you're gonna be dealing with are very electrically sensitive.
