I connect sansae260 to PC, Nothing apears on Sansa's Screen

Hi there... I was going to install windows xp in my notebook via sansa e260. I used a software WINTOFLASH. WinToFlash helps pull over the contents of a windows installation CD or DVD and prep the USB drive to become a bootable replacement for the optical drive.

And now the problem is whenever i connect my sansa e260 to my PC, Nothing apears on Sansa's Screen. its black and the wheel's blue light turn on.it shows found new hardware USB Device and ask for Drivers. Pleasr solve my problem and fix my sansa.

You may need to now reset the player, that may have been a bit much for it.
To reset your Sansa Mp3 player.

  1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds.
  2. Release the Power switch.
  3. To turn the player on, slide the Power switch up then release instantly.
If that does not get your player working again, try and Format to clear any corrupt files that may be present.

If you are still having problems, go to the Sandisk site and download the firmware update program and run that on your player.

Sandisk e260 froze after power up.

sounds like a firmware program problem and will have to be replaced. You could download an updated firmware but you will have to get a pc connection.
After your device is plugged in, are you able to go to  "my computer" and see a drive folder that has your device on it.

Sansa e-260

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Not recognized.

Have you downloaded the firmware from sandisk?

Also, have you gone to Windows Media Player 11 and tried to sync it?

When you plug the Sansa in, Vista should recognize and the Sansa should show connected. XP should do the same thing.

In the manual it shows that the 4gb is the Sansa e260; is that what you have?

Sansa e260 says connected but device not recognized

I agree with the above suggestion. Try setting the USB Mode under "Settings" on "MSC" on the Sansa. My computer would not recognize the e260 when the mode was set to "MTP"; works fine on "MSC".
