    Denon AVR-2106 no audio

I have a similar problem with 3 years old AVR... Upon turning unit off one day, there was amoderate pop sound from all 5 speakers and power light flashed red butdid not shut off. I shut off. Now when I turn on again, there will beseveral seconds of flashing green, then a very slight power relayclick-on sound, but no sound any more. To provide 'more details'requires opening the box. SOmeone mentioned a thermal fuse, can I pull itand exchange it? Thanks... Mike

The flashing light indicates that it detected overheat. Too much power could be one possible cause as tdrose hinted.

Mine was the same but the problem went away after 2-3 weeks. Looks like a burn-in issue for me.

When the standby light flashed, I switched off the mains with the little knob next to it and waited a minute or two to let it cool down. then I turned it back on again and the uptime woudl be longer than before. After off/on for 2 or 3 times it would last the whole day. After 2-3 weeks the prob went away altogether.

You're drawing too much power from it. Sounds like maybe your sub is hooked up wrong, double check that.

Heard a "pop" and my

Maybe. Clearly something blew up. Diagnostic time costs money. Then there are parts and labor.

You can get a new one on ebay ending tomorrow for as little as $140 delivered.

My Denon AVR 2106 gives sound out periodically in all modes

So you have no sound on any Inputs?  This makes a difference, if it works on some inputs but not others.  For a factory reset - turn the unit off by the ON/OFF button (not the standby button) hold in the SPEAkER A & B buttons at the smae time, while pressing them turn the system on by the ON/OFF button, wait about 3 seconds and the unit should reset everything.

Denon AVR 2106 amp failure

Does it still power up for a little bit or so with no sound what so ever?....I there is no dents in it or metal pushed in causing cracked connector boards....I can take it off you hands for a couple parts I need ...because your transformer and 2 resisters are shot and it will cost almost as much as the unit cost's.

I do have a brand new never opend $649.99 Denon AVR-788 for $365.00.
And 2 used AVR units Denon and Onkyo.....ALL HDMI

HAVE TO UP VOLUME ON DENON 2106 TO HEAR ALL AUDIO IN NIGHT MODE

There should be a volume adjust on the center channel. This is done by the remote exclusively. You may also wish to compress the sound using the dynamic range compression button or so labeled.
