Cd rom not working error code 19 acording to device manager .this is on acer aspie x3200. it will not run a dvd or cd on windows media player . have set all defaults to windows media player

To run a dvd on windows media player you need the corect codec, it is better to use "power dvd" or somethign to watch dvds. For the cd drive not working, this error code means it is not been reconized. Try doing the following. goto control panel and system, then goto device manager, uninstall the cdrom drivers and restart pc, maybe this will clear the conflict. Here is also a link to a fix programme by microsoft that will try fix your cdrom for you. click here

follow the instrsuctions and it will clear your regsteries and all for you, hope this helps
