I purchased a belkin n150 wireless router. I have no problems with it at all. However I had my phone connected via wifi and my wife tried to get on the lap top and it wouldn't connect. So my question, is...

Your router should broadcast 255 IP addresses as long as DHCP setting is enabled, which it is by default.

Follow the BELKIN instructions to run the "wireless network setup wizard", to create your own security-key & password.

1. this possibly due to 2 things
a. You have the desktop to far from the wireless router.
b. You may have an issue with decreased bandwidth by using the video calls.

You have the right gizmo there. You just need to set it up correctly. If you are in the US contact belkin @ 1 800 223 5546.

You need to know your ISP type first before trying to contact them. Know if you have a PPPoE (High speed DSL with password) Dynamic IP internet (no user name or password required to connect to the internet, usually used by cable internet providers)

After you find the right information just contact belkin and they will assist you with the proper router usage.

Can't understand why Belkin wireless router isn't connecting

If this is a new Belkin product you should be able to get free phone support. They should be able to assist you with both products (laptop and router), thought they may not be experts one the laptop. And likewise if this is a new Dell, they should help for free as well. Too many variables to help you without direct contact.

Belkin connection issue with 2 nd lap top

Hi iam router technician i understand your problem very well..To fix this issue all you have to do is,

First Confirm the model number its(starts with F5D & version (starts with VER) of your router and check for FIRMWARE update.

It may be quiet difficult for you to do up date firmware.please call toll free number"belkin" and ask them help you to update it..

Connection problem

The first thing to check is that both of your computers are assigned to the same workgroup name. Right click 'my computer' and select properties. Change the workgroup name so that they are identical on both machines. You will need to reboot if you change the name one one or both of the machines.

This is because of the security type WPA enabled in the router...youo can login to router setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the internet explorer...click on security (found in the left side, if it asks for password leave it blank and click submit) and change the security type to wep64bit and type any 10digit number as your password in key1...dont type anything other than that in any other boxes....click on apply changes...
now scan and connect your network from iphone and enter security key and login....
also delete the preferred networks from your laptop and scan and connect again....
