GE is one of several manufacturers that recycle their model and serial numbers every few years. I have included a link to a website that gives the approximate date of your refrigerator.

Check the mfg. sticker inside the unit. Since appliances change often, the model number may not identify the year and size.

The production year is based on your unit serial number. Both the serial number and month and year of manufacture is on a label in your fresh food section, on the side wall near the top.

There is a one year warranty, where the manufacturer will pay all costs for repairing or replacing any parts of this appliance which prove to be defective in materials or workmanship. You only have by default, a one year manufacture warranty on your refrigerator. If you bought a a extended warranty, you may still be covered.

Compressors on LG's are either five or seven year manufacture warranty.

its a big job to replace compressor on refrigerator. The warranty should cover labor and part for 7 years.
