Hello there
Ok I had a look in the manual but I not see much there for changing the ink cartridges but how ever I have put it on my website for you to see or download just click on the link and you can read it there or download it.

Click Link = http://www.4all2sell.com/pdf/Epson-Stylus-C20UX.pdf

I can only say with some printers when you open the lid it should come to the centre for you if not gently move it to the centre and you only have to pull it out it will just click out nay have to try when you pull it slightly push down same time.
It will come out one-way or the other lift / or / push or / push down gently not to hard / they all have different ways.

If you not got a Pdf reader you will not be able to see the manual so I have put a link here for you to download it is free,
PDF Reader = http://download.cnet.com/Adobe-Reader/3000-10743_4-10000062.html

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

An unsupported black toner cartridge is installed

Some replacement cartridges require a new "chip" be installed to tell the printer that the cartridge is a match. I would check with New Egg and see if they forgot to send the chips, if required. I don't know of a manual bypass to the system.

My PGBK ink cartridge is not printing. I just replaced it. Everything else is working fine. I have done several cleaning jobs on it and the test prints that I print don't even show PGBK or the black...

the PGBK ink cartridge might not be getting a good connection you might have to remove it and check the connections or clean the connection bars

You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you

might see a yellow? ! question exclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver, disable, uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options also you can troubleshoot the device
hope this helps you

Changed toner---back side now prints dirty with band on the top. Did the cleaning procedure - no luck

If you changed toner because old was empty and now you have this defect with the new cartrige, it is most likley a defective cartridge. Try the old cartridge again, if it prints clean, then you know for sure it is the cartridge. If you purchased a new HP cartridge, get it replaced by HP, they warranty their toners against defects. If you bought a 3rd party toner, return it to where you bought it and get them to replace it. If you had your old toner refilled by someone, get your money back, they don't know what they are doing. This type of defect is often caused by a filled waste toner bin then then runs back out when you print. Some refillers just throw toner in and don't empty the waste toner bin.

Do the reset chips really work on the cartridges of HP 2500N laserjet printer

Yes, reset chips really work on laser printer cartridges, if you have a know good source for the chips and if you know what your doing, you can't put a new chip on an old cartridge, the chip is what registeres how may prints you will get out of the cartridge if you put a new chip on an old or 1/2 empty cartridge of course it will say it's full but then try and print. It will register as a full cartridge but it can only print with the amount of toner that is actually left in the cartridge, be careful there are alot of remanufactures out there that don't put new chips on or that do but don't fill the cartridge full, or replace all the wipers and drums, they just dump some toner in and say here you go, Only buy your remanufactured cartridges from a reputable company, do your research on them first or you'll be sorry

My printer is saying my drum unit is empty. is that just the laser ink cartridge or something else?

I'm not sure of the design and implementation on Brother units but on most designs that I am aware of, the answer is yes. The imaging drum is contained within the print cartridge.

Normally I would expect that you run out of toner long before the end of life on the drum. Sometimes people get after market or refilled cartridges to save on cost and open themselves up to situations like this.

When printer manufacturer's offer refurbished print cartridges, they are offering an "ETN" (Equivalent to new) cartridges. That means that the cartridge has be completley rebuilt. This would include replacing the drum

Third party and cartridge re fillers do not do this.

So now you are faced with either taking the print cartridge apart and replacing the drum or purchasing a new print cartridge.

I would get a factory new Brother cartridge and not waste my time on refilled or third party cartridges. They are not worth the money and have been know to cause print quality problems and void warranties on printers.

Full ink cartridges reading as emty on cx5700f

Did you purchase new cartridges from the vendor of the printer (e.g. Lexmark, Canon, Epson or HP) or are you using refilled or third party cartridges?

If you are not using factory new cartridges, Please replace them with factory new ones and let me know if that corrects the problem.

If you are using factory new cartridges, contact the vendor and tell them you need defective cartridges replaced.

Black will not print

Hi springfield, From what you describe I don?t think it has anything to do with your printer drivers. I would try the following: -Run a couple of nozzle cleaning jobs. -If no change I would suspect a defective cartridge and would try a brand new HP cartridge. If these don?t work I?ll need some more details such as do you refill cartridges, buy remanufactured cartridges or use new HP. Also is this still under manufacturer?s warranty? I don?t want to suggest anything that would void it. Let us know what happens and please don?t forget to rate the posting.
