Hi there, there are many ways to copy /transfer music to your player. Here¡¦s a common and simple way to do this process using Windows Explorer. Follow the instructions below: -Connect the disk storage (MP3 player) to your computers USB port. If the computer pops up a window asking what do you want windows to do? Click cancel. -Right click on My Computer and click on Explore. A split window will pop up and display the contents and drives on your computer. Look for the drive Removable Disk (E:) [The letter drive may vary depending on your computer] This is your MP3 player. -Next, drop down My Documents and click on the My Music folder. If you store your music files in a different location then find that folder. -Take a file from the My Music folder or where ever you store your music files, click on the music file drag and drop it into the E: Removable Disk on the left of the window. A window will pop up and display the progress of the copying. Repeat the process until your player is full. You have completed the file copy/transfer process! If this helped, then please rate, thank you!computer won't recognize my sanDisk e260 all of a - 0617f9b.jpg

Half of song list not recognized by Sansa e260

i will surely help you. you have mentioned that you can see all the songs when your mp3 player is connected to the computer. so what you can do is, you can very well go ahead & format all the songs in your mp3 player using your computer. then you transfer a few songs to your mp3 player(the songs which were not getting recognized in your mp3 player). this should solve your problem.

Problem recognizing songs in sansa e260 mp3 player.

From what I'm hearing you don't have a good driver. If you still have the disk use that. If not google it or something. I have a Sansa e260 as well so I would suggest loading the songs on in windows media player rather that windows explorer. If you open Media Player and then go to sync and it does not recognize your device, then you have a bad driver. If not, then start syncing your songs that way.

Hope everything works,

Sansa mp3 e260

Well, one way of fixing this can be to watch the files sync to your mp3 player and when it starts syncing the unwanted files, just simply press "stop sync". I think i know what you are using and i had the same problem at first. you will make a sync list and click sync but after that list if finished, it will sync the rest of the songs from your computer also, you can just wait for your wanted sync list to be finished and as soon as it begins to sync the unwanted media, just press stop. this wont harm your computer or your mp3 player.

You cannot transfer from the player to the computer - sorry. The follwoing is the method you would use, but it won't work:
Try this - connect your mp3 player to computer --> double-click on My Computer --> double-click on the icon of the mp3 player --> double-click on the music folder --> drag and drop the music files to a folder/desktop of your own choosing

My mp3 a sansa e260 player may have been corrupted and am told by the peaple a real help that i may need to format my device inasmuch as we have tried absolutely everything on their end.

To reformat:
There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

Purchased CD song to Sansa

Open Windows Media Player.
Click on the Rip tab.
Insert the CD into the computer.
Click Start Rip
Windows Media Player will convert the songs on the cd to a format that the Sansa player recognizes - may take a few minutes.
Click Sync.
Drag the files from the CD to the right window pane.
Click Start Sync.

Presto!
