When I added songs to my Sansa e260 it recognized only have the songs I put on there. I made sure the USB Mode was on MSC and that all the files were MP3s. However when I manage to get the device recognized by the computer I see that all the files are there, just that half of them are being recognized by the Sansa e260. When I attempt to set files that aren't recognized by the MP3 player to "Read-Only" and "Archive", and disconnect the device it suddenly is able to read all the songs that I've put in. But then when I shut off the MP3 Player and turn it back on it doesn't recognize the other half of the songs again.
I'm not sure if that's a clear description of my problem, but help please.
I will surely help you. you have mentioned that you can see all the songs when your mp3 player is connected to the computer. so what you can do is, you can very well go ahead & format all the songs in your mp3 player using your computer. then you transfer a few songs to your mp3 player(the songs which were not getting recognized in your mp3 player). this should solve your problem.

What do you mean by copying them only once. The songs are very scattered but I know for sure that some songs I downloaded from the same sites but some of them work and the others don't.
if they are songs that you downloaded you may look into the licensing of the site you downloaded them from, some sites only allow you to copy them once and then they do not work right after that.
