Washer won’t drain, I’ve no blockage but water stays in washer and it won’t spin or drain. Can you help me

Washing machine won't drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Overloading your washing machine can cause items to be swept into the space between the inner and outer tub, leading to clogs in the drain hose or pump. 1. Pinched hose: Is the drain hose at the back of the washer been flattened or twisted in any area? A pinched hose could prevent the water from draining thoroughly. Gently straighten the hose, and make sure there is sufficient room between the back of the washing machine and the wall to prevent a repeat of the problem.

2. Clogged drain hose or pump: Does the drum spin normally, but the washing machine won't drain the water? Sometimes a piece of clothing, money, fabric or other debris gets into the water between the inner and outer tub. It may then make its way into a drain hose or even into the pump itself. The farther into the machinery a clog goes, the trickier it can be to remove. Call a repair professional for help.

3. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

4. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

5. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Have a washing machine repair expert determine if the impeller is jammed and can be cleared, or if the pump needs to be replaced.

6. Pump failure: Is your washing machine more than 7 years old? Your pump may simply have worn out. Even if it sounds as though it is running, the pump may not be working well enough to draw the water out of the machine. Replacement parts for pumps are generally unavailable. A new pump may be necessary.

sounds like you have something in your pump stopping the water draining it will not spin with water try unblocking the punp

Hi jm irons - most washer will not spin as long as the water remains inside, first thing is to check why the drain pump has not operated, water levels are controlled by the pressure switch or laymans term water level control, when water drains it closes a built in switch and enables the spin cycle circuit and machine advances to next stage of program.

WASHER FILLS WITH WATER, THEN WON'T AGITATE. TURN KNOB TO SPIN AND IT DRAINS THEN SPINS. STILL WON'T AGITATE please show me a diagram

Make sure door mechanism is working at fine. So next is to check whether the motor tumbles both directions.
The spin bearing might be a problem, but normally you'd hear a problem here first. Have you heard any freight trains passing through the house in the spin cycle?
One thing to check for this problem is the spin speed switch. If the spin speed switch is bad then the control won't know how fast to spin, and so it will just not spin at all.
The drain pump must be draining all the water out. If the water doesn't drain out then the pressure switch won't read empty and that might prevent a spin cycle.
