Well you only got a trial version. Which means you got to use the software for free for a short period of time. You now are required to purchase the full version of the software.

You need to purchase a license key from Microsoft to activate your trial version. If the trial expires, your data will not be lost. You'll just need to move your files to another computer with a licensed copy of Office to view and edit them.

The home/student version is just a trial version. Just ignore the prompts asking for the product key it will allow you to use the software for a limited time. You can use the online version for free also.

You cannot, uness it is a give away with a magazine.

Keep the old system . Instal the new one leaving the old intact. Thsi is called a dual boot. When you turn it on it will give you the option of which version to run.  When insstall the new OS Beta  it shoudl give you the options of :"Overwrite windows?" Say no.  Then go ahead and install.    As to the question about your existing windows. Ifyou have not the reinstall cd's or the reinstal someone else on your hard driver, and you loose you present windows. You will usually have to purchase either the reinstal cd's or a new windows version.   I myself,of would make sure to have or make them before instaling anything else.

Unfortunately, you cannot get a serial number for any software for free. Your trial version probably did not work as it may also have expired (usually 30 days).

you only get a trial version installed in your system which means you never paid for the Office software
if you need a full version you have to purchase it from microsoft
