Picture has a yellow tint. It's from an old video game that ran over 12 hours a day. Has new bulb. Except for the yellow, works fine.

Hello there:
The best way to describe this is what is called screen burn in.
this is very common on screns that have games or pictures that arre displayed for long periods of time without being shut down just like on a computer screen when a screen saver is not used .
there is nothing wrong with the bulb.
the yellow that you are seeing is actually burned into the glass part of the projector and the lense
so if you can and feel like you can dissasemble the projector dissassemble it and locate the glass and see if you can get the yellow tint that will be on the glass and the lense off by using some rubbing alcohol and a cottomn swab
But if it wont come off you will have to replace the lense and the glass ok
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

Hi I have a Hitachi 50v720 and I just replaced the bulb with the Phillips UX21517 bulb. When I turned the tv back on the picture worked fine except everything has a yellow tint.

I don't know if this set is a DLP or not, if it is, it could be your light engine. Not good, mine had a yellow halo about 2in thick in the middle of the screen. Light engine had to be replaced. Hope this is helpful. GOOD LUCK!

Projection has yellow tint

From your description, it sounds like a problem with the blue color. Green LCD=purple onscreen, Red=cyan(baby blue) onscreen, Blue LCD=yellow onscreen. It could be a lot of dust on the blue lcd panel, or worse, might be a burned polarizer filter behind the lcd panel due to excessive heat. If you can focus on the yellow and its tons of yellow specs, its dust. A burned filter however, must be replaced. A technician trained in projectors will have to do it. The filter material is glued to a thin glass panel and is replaced as a single filter. It's a very involved repair.

Faint Yellow and/or Blue Tint on the Ice during hockey games ( or similar color situations)

No the bulb indicator is on a timer just meaning that is is reaching its "expected" life. The lamp will cause a dim picture or no picture it will not cause color deformities sorry. The light engine to fix that set is also priced higher than the set is worth.

Rca truflat with green tinted picture?

Just because a machine has failed, there is no cause for you to call it a stupid TV. And as it is only 6 months old, why not take it to the Company service Centre? There must be warranty.

Yellow Tint on Screen

I would guess that the light engine is not aligned right with the chassis. You will probably have to get into the menus and reset the bulb timer setting to get rid of the replace bulb light. A common problem with these sets is a clogged lint screen causing the set to overheat and shut off after a period of time.
