Top-load washing machine wont stop filling. It is as if the machine does not know when the proper water level is reached. However, if I advance the knob, it will proceed into the wash cycle just fine until it starts filling again for the rinse.

It is most likely a pressure switch issue but the brand and model is required for the exact troubleshooting and repair guide.

My kenmore 22442100 top load washer will not stop filling I have to watch it and manually stop water and advance timer past fill cycle please help advise.

your load select switch, has a hose connected to it, it goes to the bottom of tub. This tells water to shut off when it reaches desired water level for load size you selected. This hose gets clogged with soap, you have to open area where switch is, take hose off of switch and blow it out. This should solve your problem. If it does not, then load selector switch should be replaced. I am going with first solution, more common. Thanks

My washing machine wont stop filling up with

well the part that tells the water to stop running in is the pressure switch if the water valve is working properly so disconnect the power and if the water continues to run in it is the water valve just replace it

Washing machine wont quit filling during rinse cycles

if this is a top loading machine. turn it off the pull the drain hose up about six inches but do not remove it from the wall drain you should here water flowing out of the hose once the water has stopped restart you machine with the hose in the sam e position then it should fill up to the proper level and start washing. all this is provided it is not over flowing on the floor.

let me know how things go for and good luck

My frigidaire top loader fills with water at the beginning of the wash...then nothing. it just sits there full of water.

Hi, could be your timer motor, timer or water level switch, first push timer knob in and manually advance to wash or spin cycle (program) then pull knob, see if machine operates, let me know, then i can tell you exactly what's problem.also advance timer, to spin cycle (program) machine should pump out water, or you can lower drain hose into bucket and empty machine, you should empty machine and try again, let me know what happened, we can solved this together. good luck.

Maytag washer

Check to make sure your drain hose has a loop at least as high as washer top.  If the drain hose is not looped higher than tub water will continue to drain and it won't stop filling.  If it doesn'y reach the correct fill level it won't agitate.
