Probably by calling the company and asking them what to do. Maybe they only need some information from you to confirm your purchase and then they can either retrieve your key or set up a new one.

Acer doesn't connect to protected wireless internet

It looks like you've keyed it in once, but you keyed it in wrong, so the system thinks the security key is there.

Which Operating System?

You can try connecting to another secured network and see if it asks for a security code, then try going back to your network.

Try getting to the security code by going to the wireless network connection and highlighting your network then click properties.

My new laptop doesn't work

To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

What will i do if i forgot my security key???

All you have to do is connect to the router and change security key/ secure the connection. Just follow the following steps: -
First you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer) by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is 192.168.0.1 (Default router settings are written under the router)
(unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and the password "leave it blank") and lookup for the options to do the following: -

Next step is to secure it:
1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Setup" 2.Under "Wireless Security Mode", select your desired encryption method (preferably WPA2-PSK)
3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length
4. Click Save Settings.
1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router
2. Change the default administrative user name and password
(The above step would prevent unauthorized access to your router)

Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet.

In case you have forgotten the User Name/ Password of the router, there is no way to recover the lost password However, you can reset the router to factory defaults and re-configure settings like password, network key etc. First, to reset the router to factory default setting, press the reset button at the back of the router.

Please note that after RESETTING THE ROUTER to defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Generally, after hard reset you get the connectivity, however, you have to make the connection secure etc.
Please, refer here to download the product guide/manual and make configurations as per the details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

I have a new lap top which is recognising the wireless network and then asking for a network security key. How do I find this?

The network security key is essentially a password that was setup to control access to your network. Presumably, when you set it up you gave it a password that you could remember, but not so obvious that people could easily guess. If you've forgotten or lost the password, you can reset the router by using a paperclip and holding the reset button for about 10-15 seconds. Once you reset the router, it will be restored to its original factory defaults and you can then setup again your wireless networking.

How can ifind the wep key?

If you mean when you've lost it, forgotten it, you can't. You'll have to reset the router and set it up over again. Most routers are reset by putting a pin in the hole to reset it. Some have a reset button. When you do it's a good idea to write the wep key on a piece of tape and tape it to the bottom of the router so you don't forget it.

If you mean find it in the set up... after you get it set up and go to log in and pick a network it will pop up when you select your network. It will show it as secured then you can put in the web key. .
