I have just purchased a new samsung laser / fax printer model no. SCX4824FN. I can print from my computer and I can copy a document. However I cannot scan a document to my computer or send / receive a fax. Can anyone advise please?

Check your computer for the driver, reinstall scanner/copier if necessary.

I think the scanner is dirty (and lamp glass inside), try to clean it, gently with a cloth (cotton), fine print that if if that ok

When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint. You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer. This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter. A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.

your computer needs to be cleaned up cc cleaner.

Your laser printer uses toner - a fine powder - as ink, to print with. The toner cartridge is empty, you need to replace it with a new one like

open the feeder cover you will see 2 rubber rollers,
if found dusty then just clean both roller with wet cloth.

check for debris or paper fragments!!!!

I just checked this out as I had the same problem. It seems that the machine is programmed to stop printing faxes when the Toner is "out". Even though the toner is not completely out. I was positive that the note on the screen was false since I could print out documents and copies (I am not using Samsung original Toner). But the fax will refuse to print.  I fixed this by changing the toner (again with a non-Samsung toner) and it is printing all the faxes in memory.  It is stupid that they haven't set up a menu item to force it to print all the faxes in memory but voila, that seems to be the fix. I guess this is a way for them to control that we only use Samsung toner.
