I wash once a laptop keyboard after someone spilled beer on it. Try to unmount keyboard and wash it with water and soap. It works for me. Let keyboard to naturally dry one day.
Since coffee was spilled on the laptop keyboard it needs to be removed because they hold a lot of moisture that continue to seep on the motherboard and eventually cause more problems, should correct the typing issue.
Hi I would say you have a stripped thumb screw. It is in the top left side of the brew unit and holds the filter screen in. If it is stripped there will be water or coffee in the pocket on top left of the brew unit.
Does the coffee seem to be overflowing the coffe maker and the running down? If so the valve where the filter is placed is not working properly. When you place the coffee pot it actuates a small arm which inurn opens a valve at the base of the filter unit. If this is the case remove the unit and correct this unit. In speaking from past experience I know this happen to our coffe maker while the unit was apart being cleaned; it was just a matter of proper reassemble.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
The two most common reasons for overflow or underflow have to do with the carafe lid and the filter basket - they key to smooth flow with this coffee maker is making sure the filter basket and carafe lid are making the proper contact with each other so that the center knob on the carafe lid pushes slightly up on the filter basket spring. Make sure the carafe lid is completely closed. Make sure the filter basket is pushed all the way down. Make sure you are not using the gold tone filter and a paper filter at the same time. For some reason, I get better results when the handle of the carafe is resting against the right side wall. If everything is in place, I would suspect a problem with either the filter basket being clogged or some problem with the carafe lid - call Cuisinart as they should be able to order these parts for you.
Leave the carafe off the hot plate and place the basket in holder with the lip under hinged flange so it sits flat. Then replace the carafe and the basket should not move up when the Pause and Serve button opens. I just bought this pot too and
love it but except for the basket placement problem.
