My modem won't turn on.

Power won't turn on. Checked the power source too (works). Sometimes after pressing the power button 50 or more times, the power light will flash red for only one second then turn off

I forgot my password

Reset the modem by removing the power cable from the back of the modem for a full 30 seconds and plugging it back in.

This is sometimes referred to as "power cycling" the modem, and is a good way of clearing network timeouts and other problems that can appear on modems that have been running continuously for some time.

Reset the modem by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet or surge protector into which it is plugged.

This is a good alternative to removing the power cord from the back of the modem if it is difficult to get to the modem because of its physical location. Count the full 30 seconds and plug the modem back in to complete the reset.

Reset the modem by pressing the reset button the back of the modem.

The button itself is recessed into a hole to prevent accidental resetting, so you will need a pen or some similar thin utensil that can fit inside the hole.

Press the pen into the hole until you feel the button depress and then let go.

This is sometimes called a "hard reset" or "hard reboot," as this will restore the modem to its factory default settings

Hope this helps

My "50" RCA Scenium won't

That's usually caused by a bad lamp. However that chassis is famous for having bad caps on the power board. The repair kit is available at the following link and has repair instructions included. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/rca-atc336-dlp-power-board-repair-kit/cName/repair-kits

When I first started using this modem, it worked great and easily worked well with my Belkin router. One day when I came home, the modem was only flashing the "power" light was flashing and I had...

Flashing power light on Router is sign of hardware failure As mentioned, you have already reset the router
You can try to hard reset the router one more time
Follow this procedure
1. Press the reset button with some paper clip 2. Wait for 10 Secs 3. Turn of Power to the router (While Reset button is still pressed) 4. Wait for 10 secs 5. Power on router 6. Wait for 10 secs and then release the Reset button
While doing this make sure reset button is pressed continuously start from Step 1 - 6
Check if Power light still blinks
If No - you can setup router like before and it will work If yes - Buy a new router or get it replaced if under warranty

Storm knocked power off late yesterday afternoon....back on this morning. PC won't power up....small green light on back flashing. Modem, router, etc. all back up and running, but PC won't turn...

Hello,
The first thing to try is to cycle the power. To do this, unplug the power cord from the back of the PC and press and hold down the power button on the PC for 5 seconds. This will completely drain any "stuck" power in the components. Now plug the power back into the PC and try booting. If it still does not come back on after this, then you may be dealing with a blown power supply. You can buy replacement power supplies from your local PC shop for about $50 for a 400watt.
To protect your devices in the future, make sure you have a good surge protector and / or a UPS (uninterrupted power supply).

The on-off switch on Speedstream 5100 modem keeps turning itself off, every few hours for few days. Finally modem has no power, what could the problem be? already tried replacing the power cord but still...

1: unplug all the cords to the modem
2: press the reset button from the back of it
3: leave it for about 5 minutes to drain off the static charge
4: plug it only to power source to see if the power lights up
5: if does'nt don't waste your time on it, its bad and if it was provided to you by your internet service provider get it replaced for free.
6: if you bought it yourself check for warranty generally modems have lifetime warranty

Motorola SB4200 Modem IP not working

You can always do the 30-30-30 reset as follows:
  1. When router is powered on, press the reset button and hold for 30 seconds. (Use a paper clip or something sharp)
  2. While holding the reset button pressed, unplug the power of the router and hold the reset button for 30 seconds
  3. While still holding the reset button down, turn on the power to the unit again and hold for another 30 seconds.
This should allow for a full reset of the modem. Once that's done, connect your computer to it with an Ethernet cable to access it's WebUI using the Default Gateway (192.168.100.1), or connect to the WIFI using the default SSID and Password that are usually written on the modem itself.

I hope this works!

I found this in the user manual. From what you've said I would check the second paragraph first. I hope this works for you.

On your equipment check (STB, DVD, etc) ; Power,
