Actiontec (GS503AD3-01) Modem

Lights on my modem are flashing rapidly in unison. The power light is flashing red, connection light is blank, internet light is blank, and each of the four ethernet ports are flashing green. I have pressed the reset button the back of the modem, checked and rechecked all the connections, plugged the modem into an alternate power change.

--If the Power light is flashing red thanits definately problem with the Actiontec Router --As you have checked with different power source, the possibility of bad power source is no more --May be due to some voltage fluctuation the modem is gone bad.

The reason why your internet light is red for the actiontec gt701-wg is because it is not yet configure. You need to access the gui of this router. enter the username and password for your internet connection. You can contact your ISP provider so they can walk you through for the steps on how to configure your new router.

The old router has green light because it was already configured by your ISP provider.

IF Your ISP is Cable then

Step 1 : Connect Modem - Router - Main Computer *(Wired)

Step 2 : Open RSP By typing On the Address Bar of the Internet Explorer

Step 5 : Select the Connection type As Dynamic

Step 15 : Connect Modem - Computer

Step 16 : Check if It is getting the Internet

Step 17 : If its Not then Restart the Modem And Try It

Step 18 : Make Sure You are getting the Internet When you Connect Modem - Computer

Step 19 : And after that Connect Modem to the Yellow Port on the Router

Step 20 : Check the Lights After 5 Minutes

When power switch is turned on the Power light is rapidly flashing & the 4 Ethernet lights are flashing. The box is Actiontec GT704wg

I do not have a solution to the problem. However, I am having the same problem. This morning the Actiontec GT704WG power and ethernet lights were rapidly flashing. The modem was non-functional. I could not even connect to the modem through the browser to see if I could find a problem.

The problem lasted a couple of hours. Then all of a sudden the modem started working again. I won't be able to tell if the problem recurs until I restart the modem. And if the problem does occur again, I won't be able to connect to the internet.

The power light on my actiontec m1000 blinks green & red and now my computer can't find the modem. What does the blinking lights mean??

red light on modem usually means modem is in bad state
in this case kindly try to do power cycle
way to power cycle
disconnect all the cables and leave the modem for 30-50secs
then try and connect power cable first
then connect the dsl and then ethernet and see if that resolves the problm,


You will have to be a bit more clear on which lights on which model of modem is flashing rapidly.
Usually, as long as the internet works, the flashing lights are there to show that the modem is functioning properly and is currently sending packets, transmitting data, etc.

Power Light Is Red, Internet Light Is Green, Other Lights Off

Check cable connections.

Try unplugging router from power for five minutes.

If that does not work call Internet Service provider to check if there is a problem with their server.


you may try this and see if this help solve your problem

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, maybe you need to upgrade the firmware of your router

what you running it from(computerwise)..sounds like you may have a driver/interface issue with computer.
