I am having similar problems. It occasionally will allow me to connect. But, not often. I have been trying to get in touch with zoom for several days, but no luck.

I had the exact same problem as amiewolf. I just did something half an hour ago and everything seems to be working fine right now. I'm not sure if it completely fixed the problem but it seems like it at least helped.

Go into your Windows Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del). Click on the Processes tab. Under CPU click twice, the first click sorts ascending and the second descending. Look at the programs taking up the most space. Don't worry about the System Idle Processes because that is only free space for programs. I had two things called mghtml.exe which I found out was the program that runs McAfee Security Center. I closed it anyway because it was taking up a lot of CPU. The second was a strange program called 4219746F.exe. I think this is a virus or something but I ended the process because it was taking up about 70% of the CPU and after that everything worked fine.

I hope this helps both of you and anyone else that visits this page with the same problem. I am not sure yet if this has any kind of bad side effect but nothing wrong has happened yet. I advise you not to do this though unless you absolutely have to use the internet and don't care what might happen.

Just an update on my post. For me it was definitely the 4219746F.exe file. It was part of my C:\\WINDOWS\Temp folder so you might want to delete everything in that folder that you can. I hope this helps.

Is the Zoom ADSL X6 modem router supposed to provide connectivity for a 3G Kindle? If so, how do I set things up?

Zoom X6 routers don't work with either Kindles or Nooks- it seems the connect on demand to save power confuses the Zoom router - typically requiring the unpractical fix of rebooting the router every two minutes.

I have a Zoom X6 ADSL modem that keeps dropping my internet signal. How can I correct this?

is it wireless connection or ethernet? Zoom routers have a firewall and when you have something connected that the firewall doesnt like (Xbox 360 or Gaming) it will drop the connection. goto zoom.com/x6 and it will give you instruction on how to by-pass the firewall using an different IP address.

Zoom ADSL X6 Modem "Link" Light Suddenly Blinks Continuously

the modem may have gone faulty so if your isp provided it ask them to replace it if the modem is in warranty period and if your isp provides internet connection through the phone line then first please try plugging the modem on main socket in with an adsl filter plugged in and if this is not the case then problem is definately the line through which the broadband signal come to your place which is suppose to be sorted out by your isp.

Zoom adsl x6

If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue

X6 modem router

Your ISP probably has some setup requirements from the modem side of the router that will need to be identified.
