Sony WEGA rear projection - I have replaced the bulb but continue to have a yellow tint to the picture. I have tried adjusting the color etc and resetting to factory without benefit. Any ideas? Thanks Rob

You have a bad optical block as Sony calls it or better known as light engine. Sony has had trouble with these and has been replacing some. Contact Sony to see if they will replace this. It is an expensive part.

Black and white picture and no color

The video controller adjustment section for color has defaulted to black and white because the circuit board may have been affected by a power surge or power outage. It may be that the Video board needs replacing.

My Sony KDF-60Xs955 rear projection has a blueish green tint on the screen. it is really noticable during darker scenes and is distoring the colors in other pictures. A tech came out and tried to adjust...

this is normally either a color calibration (easy) or a light adjustment(if burnt out very bad)

for the color calibration you want to go into your menu setting and look for the color calibration menu it should give you two cross hairs to align causing a different color yellow red is orange green is blue yellow and so on after ensuring all theese setting are correct your best bet is going to be taking it to or having a television repair man come to you to check the bulbs hopefully if just an adjustment needs to be made cost should be minimal unfortunately if a light is burnt out its usually cheaper to buy a new tv

hope this helps

I just replaced the bulb in my Sony 55'' Grand Wega. the picture looked fantastic the first day. turned on the TV the next day and everything that should have a ''white color'' looked pink. the blues...

Please adjust TINT control of Video Settings in Menu that will adjust color tone of TV. I do not think this problem is related with Lamp because TV screen does not have any color blobs or spots.
Above solution is for Sony KDF-55WF655 model TV, if your model number is different, let me know.
Thanks.

Our Sony Grand Wega suddenly has a green-yellow tint.

IF IT IS HOOKED UP WITH COMPONENT CABLES (GREEN, RED, AND BLUE) FOR PICTURE AND RED AND WHITE FOR AUDIO, MOST LIKELY THE RED ONE IS NOT SEATED PROPERLY, CHECK BOTH ENDS THE ONE CONNECTED TO THE TV AND THE ONE CONNECTED TO WHATEVER THE SOURCE IS ( SATELLITE BOX, CABLE BOX ETC.

Picture is dark

Adjust video settings:
  1. Press Wega Gate
  2. Select Settings
  3. Highlight Video
  4. Press + to select
  5. Adjust/increase the brightness.
  6. Press Wega gate to exit.
If picture is still dark, you need to replace the lamp again. Sony recommends that you replace the lamp:
  1. After approximately 8,000 hours of use.
  2. When the screen becomes dark or the color becomes unusual.
  3. When the lamp indicator on the front of the TV flashes.
