Hi,

Please check your capacitor/motor starter.

The capacitor kick starts the motor. If you are able to kick start the motor by hand, then that initial transfer of energy which you exert by hand, is similar to what the capacitor does.

If you have a top loader, the Capacitor is located under the top control panel.

Let me know if you require additional help with the capacitor.
Regards
Ash

HI. This is actually a control issue. the control sector is faulty. A control sector can be a timer, or a control board. A timer can become unstable(worn dial cogs). This type of ware will cause the timer to skip certain cycles, or run past a designated operation during the cycle, as well. A control board has several logic chips and relays, that control the functions of the unit, during the cycle. if there is a circuit failure, this will cause the issues you are experiencing at this time. I would advise to verify the drain pump functions by jumping the motor. make sure that pump is ok. If the pump can be successfully jumped, this will confirm that the control sector is faulty. It must be replaced, in this case. I would like to pull the schematics for your unit, but i will need the entire model number, in order to achieve this. Please post the entire model number, if possible. Thanks..

Thanks for that model number. Ok, i have confirmed that your unit is running a timer module. This will be the culprit. in your case. this timer is defective. it should be replace asap, if possible. the part number for your timer will be WH12X1021

Once this timer module is replaced, the unit will operate correctly.

The jumping method is, usually, used by service techs to confirm actual motor functions. This is preformed by using a wire to bridge the terminal connections on the drain pump motor. Once this is done, the motor will run, if not damaged. This will help confirm that the motor is functioning.

Be sure to unplug the unit, before placing the wire on the drain pump contacts.

GE Profile top load washer not spinning during drain cycles. Have tried resetting motor with door switch trick but still stuck. Water drains but machine not spinnin out.

it seems to me that the water sensor switch is not letting the control panel that the water has all gone therefore check in the back of the machine and look for a small 5mm pipe take it off and blow gently into it you should hear a click and one when you let the air out if so then the place where you took the pipe from is blocked not allowing it to operate so take a pipe cleaner or a steel rod to fit the hole and unclog it its normally blocked with soap goo eric

Wssh300g2ww won't drain

Tip this on its side and look from underneath. You should be able to see better what is holding it on there. Every washer is different and everyone makes you swear when working on it.

i had my kenmore washer doing the same, looked at water pump but nothing was stuck inside ,i tried the lid switch and stuck a screwdriver in it to see if this would do the trick,nothing..but when i took it out, i could see where it had come apart...took it out and decided to use gorilla glue and clamp it back till the glue dries, before the glueing process ,i test the draining outside with a buckett..and bingo,it started draining the water,i only had the switch crimped with my fingers and at the same time pushed the switch down ,it worked..draing started..hopes this helps

GE front loader will not drain or final spin.

I had the same problem with mine about 10 months ago. It seemed that the washer would take forever to wash a load. Every time we went to check the remaining time, it seemed that it never changed. This went on for about a week. We discovered that the washer was not draining properly. After we took it apart, we discovered that a sock, along with some other items, had managed to find its way into the drain pipe. Once we removed the stoppage, and cleaned out the gunked up piping, everything worked well. If we could only find a permanent solution to the ripping door gasket (I have to buy one today; it's the 4th one!!!!).

BTW - I contacted GE about the problem, via email and phone, and they were clueless and not very helpful.
