Re: No Suction in Hoover U6450-900

If there is no suction, check the filters, if they are clean then there has to be a clog either in the hose or in the inlet down by the brush roll. See if there is suction at the hose end. If there is, then it is clogged down lower. Are you sure that the brush roll is turning when it is on the carpet? For a manual, go to, put on your model number, if one is available, you can down load it.

My Hoover Tempo has almost no suction

Most vacuum cleaners have more than one filter (even bag-less vacuums sometimes). I have found that after being used a while the motor filter blocks up. I just remove it and use another vacuum to clean it out. Depending on the material you may be able to wash it in warm water or if you can get your hands on a new one just replace it. I found a link on youtube that may help you to locate and replace the filters:

Maybe I could replace the belts and brush, but there seem to be too many places to go into to repair a suction problem. I need a repair shop for Hoover Wind Tunnel.

The belt and brush have nothing to do with the suction. The impeller on the motor creates negative pressure which results in a vacuum. ( or suction ) Many newer vacuums have as many as 4 filters. if any become completely clogged, the performance drops to nil. Start at the debris exit and work backwards. As a bagless, pulling the dirt canister out and removing the main filter is a good start. Most filters can be "tapped" clean and some are washable. after pulling out the filter, look where the passage way enters the filter chamber. Is it clogged? There is usually a secondary filter, which actually is set in a previous stage to the filter you just pulled out. Its main purpose if to catch hair, small nails, wire, and other material that could damage the more visible filter. If this filter is clogged then that will explain the loss of suction. Pull it out and clean it. An exhaust filter is located typically above the motor. Its purpose is to prevent fine particles from being blown about. It should be cleaned as well. With the filters clean and the hoses and passage ways clear, you should be good to go.
Good Luck!

Most likely your vent for the suction container is plugged or the suction hose can of or is broken at the connection to the tank nozzle (very common on these. Clean the machine thoroughly, and check that all hoses are tight and connected.

Hoover Windtunnel spits dirt back out the back

Your problem sounds to be an obstruction in the foot (lower body) of the windrummel. Most all windtunnel's have a second cavity for suction to go over the top of the roller. When you remove the bottom plate, next remobe the belt and roller, under the roller will be a removable cavity, take it out. remove the dirt and clean out any debris. also check the suction path connecting hose. if your belt has not been changed in the last 12 months, I would recommend changing that as well.
