H0w to change thermostat housing on 1995 Kia sportage

  • Drain the coolant and dispose of properly,
Remove the clamp on the upper radiator hose where it connects to the elbow on the engine block.

  • Torque the bolts for the housing to the right torque.

  • Fill the Radiator with NEW coolant. Leave cap off
  • Start the engine and squeeze the upper radiator hose several times to remove air.
  • Watch for the level in the radiator to drop
  • Add coolant as needed, till the level is even with the inside lip on the radiator neck WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT.

We need the sequence for a Head bolt torque on a 1996 Izusu Rodeo

For the V6 3.2L engine it is 6 - 2 - 3 - 7 on top, and 5 - 1 - 4- 8 on the bottom. These are M11x1.5 bolts and should be torqued to 47lb-ft.These bolts should not be re-used, only replaced.

The three M8x1.25 bolts on the left end are sequence numbers 11 - 10 - 9 from top to bottom and should be torqued to 15lb-ft.

We were wondering the torque on the head bolts on a Kohler motor for a lawn mower.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. These torques are from the Kohler Service manual for the
CV11-16,
CV460-465,
CV490-495
engine.

There are 5 bolts.... as you look at the bolts there should be 3 on the left side

Bolt 1 is the center (offset bolt)
Bolt 2 is upper right
Bolt 3 bottom left
Bolt 4 upper left
Bolt 5 lower right.

Torque them in the sequence above... to 15 Ft lbs. or 180 inch lbs
reset your torque wrench and then torque them to 30 Ft lbs or 360 inch lbs.

Rocker arms center nuts (called mounting screws) are first torqued to 55 inch lbs then to 100 inch lbs.

Then to set the valve lash you back off the set screw lock nut torque and set the valve lash to .003 - .005 final set screw lock nut torque is 65 inch lbs. Engine must be at TDC i.e piston all the way to the top to make the correct adjustments.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I am about to change a headgasket on a 92 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5 cu. What are the torques on the head bolts. Thanks

It is recommended that you buy the bolts along with the gasket. Did the car overheat and was run in an overheated condition for more than a mile ? An overheated engine tends to warp the heads and it has to be re-cut smooth. The bolts tend to come loose with time. If not replaced. Torque is 45 ft lbs, then 65 lbs , then way up to 90 lbs in sequence starting at the middle bottom 1 then top side 2 to the right 3 top ,4 bottom, then go to the other side of the number one bolt and the top bolt is 5, bottom 6, then way down to the end at the back of the head is number 7 top , 8 bottom...... Back to the front of the head and top is 9, bottom is 10.
