Unuseable Camera Hello, this is a sudden emergency. A sibling borrowed my camera and it came back un-usable. She said the battery went out, but I think she just said that not to get in trouble. What is happening is this: Firstly, the camera is off and the lens remains un-retracted. When turned on the screen is black and nothing happens untill I press the tiny button below the speaker, the icon is a paper with a symbol close to( <~> ) that to the right, the screen illuminates to black with E18 in the lower left hand corner then totaly powers off. I'm charging the battery as of now, but I'm totally ticked off. As you may know this is a $270 camera and I just don't have the money to take it anywhere or buy a new one if this one fails to work. Please tell me this is fixable? Thank you so much! I have the same E18 problem appearing on my Camera screen (Canon Powershot A80

The display is probably bad - it can be replaced. Try taking a picture and download the results on a computer - if it's ok, then that confirms a bad display. The camera is still usable but with a bad display viewer.

DSV-V1 no power, doesn't react on battery or batterycharger

You may still have a battery fault, and the only way you'll find out is to buy or borrow an external charger such as the Sony BC-VC10. Buying a new battery won't solve it as they're supplied uncharged.

If you live in the UK and can post the battery to me I'll try to recharge it for you and will post it back afterwards.

BTW: Is your battery a genuine Sony InfoLITHIUM C, model number NP-FC11?

Canon eos 350d wont power up

Have you tried his battery pack in your camera??? if it still does not work your camera probably blew a fuse and repair cost run about 180.00 to repair it. If you need any further help please fell free to ask.

Camera beeps 3 times the shuts off

If the camera is older sometimes the battery brakes down after starting as the motor for the lens needs a lot of power as the starting of the lcd does. Had a similar problem with a different camera. I tried a friends battery and suddenly all worked fine.

Camera not switching on

Sounds like the battery has failed. if you can, then if you can try and borrow a working battery from someone else with the same camera, and try your battery on their camera just to confirm this is the problem. If you can't, then just try a new battery - please post again if you are having trouble finding one. Other possibility is that there is a fault with the charger - again if you can borrow one, you can soon see of this is the problem. Most camera repair shops will have a selection of chargers they can use, so you should be able to check this quite easily. Hope this helps :)
