Re:
Sounds like the battery has failed. if you can, then if you can try and borrow a working battery from someone else with the same camera, and try your battery on their camera just to confirm this is the problem.
If you can't, then just try a new battery - please post again if you are having trouble finding one.
Other possibility is that there is a fault with the charger - again if you can borrow one, you can soon see of this is the problem. Most camera repair shops will have a selection of chargers they can use, so you should be able to check this quite easily.
Hope this helps :)

I had one the other day the customer states every 4 days need jump start . 1st step ck charging system ok , starter draw was good . started to ck all drains all were normal . after dealing with this issue for a month i replaced his battery with a new one he never came back . calls me for reg service . A week cell in battery can pass the test . Hope this helps .
Hi,
I'd suggest using a wall charger as they're able to provide more power to charge then a computers USB port. Often with camera's the USB port doesn't supply enough power so the camera doesn't charge at all.
hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and
hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should
hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera.
Select Yes... thank u!!! rate me!!
hi anjali, i think the problem must be with the replacement of the CCD chip. they must have must some damage to the cam with out their knowledge. but the thing is you cant even claim that with Sony. you must have took it right next day. that too if you are in india you cant expect the service people to get these things fixed so soon. you must have been attentive.
The camera's charge-couple device (CCD) within the camera must have suffered a short-circuit due to the sea water, rendering the imaging device damaged. As a result, the battery would drain pretty quick while its switched on.
Please take the camera to the nearest service center to have it repaired.
The camera was working fine 5 days ago. Yesterday when I tried to switch it on, I assumed that the battery was flat so I charged it but when fully charged the camera still won't switch on. i Please help!
