You can click start>At the top of the list, right click on the IE if you see it> select remove from list. If it's not there it won't conflict with firefox.

I can't watch videos

Firefox is a very popular web browser that enables you to search and navigate the web. It allows you to run a number of components, such as toolbars, download managers and video players, to enhance your browsing experience. However, you can run into occasional display problems and crashes that require some troubleshooting. With some simple guidelines, repair common Firefox problems and improve your browser.

Print or write these directions down before proceeding. Close down Firefox and click the Windows Start menu on the desktop. Select "All Programs" and navigate to the "Mozilla Firefox" folder. Click "Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)" in the folder. This launches Mozilla Firefox Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, you can repair Firefox issues. Select the areas you want to repair on the "Safe Mode" window. For example, select "Reset toolbars and controls" if you want to remove third-party toolbars. Select "Disable add-ons" if you want to disable plug-ins such as download managers. Click the "Make Changes and Restart" button to repair the web browser. Restart your web browser normally after you complete the repair process. Step 5. Uninstall and reinstall Firefox if you are still having problems with it. To do so, go to the Mozilla Firefox download page and click "Free Download" (see Below). http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html When prompted, click "Save" and save the browser installation file on your desktop. Click the Windows Start menu and click "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" to launch the programs list if you are using Windows XP. For Windows Vista and 7 users, launch the programs list by clicking "Programs" and clicking "Programs and Features." Click "Firefox" and click "Remove/Uninstall" to remove the web browser from your computer. Double-click the Firefox installation file you downloaded in Step 5 and click "Run" to reinstall the web browser on your computer.

I can't seem to successfully download Mozilla Firefox. Can you help ?

I would suggest that you first uninstall the old version for Firefox. In Windows XP, go to: Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Select "Mozilla Firefox", and proceed to uninstall.

Then download a new version of Firefox (using another browser, such as IE or Chrome). The latest version is available at: http://www.getfirefox.com/

Then install the new version (click on the file that you download).

For more on installation, see this Firefox help file:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Installing%20Firefox%20on%20Windows

Hope that's helpful.

Firefox error for a week (msg is below). IE works but how can I firefox? Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection...

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

It sounds as if something has affected, changed or corrupted your Firefox Browser settings.

Uninstall firefox and all its components from add or remove programs > restart computer > use IE to log on and download and install the latest version of Firefox, watching out for any firewall permission boxes > test firefox and set it as the Default Browser, if you want to.

start > Control Panel > (Add or Remove) Programs > (uninstall a program) > highlight Firefox > Remove all its components > restart computer.

Remeber to regularly downlad and install upgrades, updates andsecurity patches for both browsers to protect from malware.

Download and install good Spyware and Browser protection software such as, for added protection:

Malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org)

SuperAntispyware (www.superantispyware.com)

I hope this helps.

Downgrade to IE 7. Also try using another browser. Such as the Google Chrome. Other wise try downloading the Internet Download Manager.

Uninstall the IE 8. From Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

REinstall the IE 7 From Contol Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add or remove Windows Components > Check the IE box. Click next and install.

Can't save files using Firefox and Vista

Hi Nancy,

For me Firefox always puts my files in
C:// > Users > Chris > Downloads whereas IExplorer always puts them into Chris > Documents.
so I guess yours would be the
C:// > Users >Nancy > Downloads for Mozilla
and Nancy > Documents

I know that sounds really patronising! But sometimes it is just a simple thing like that. Forgive me if that just sounds dumb! :)

Try uninstalling Firefox and downloading the latest version, if all else fails., but re-install your antivirus! (and try running Spybot from Spybot.org as a spyware companion for your antivirus program)

Hope this helps
Season's Greetings

Firefox Problems with Vista

I have had the same problem with Firefox and also remembering my login information in Vista. The XP operating system is fine the problem is only with Microsoft's Vista operating system. It could have something to do with Vista's security setup, either that or Microsoft is just kicking the competition around? Actually it's probably a little bit of both those reasons.

The only way I have been able to correct the problem is to download the IE Tab add-on. It allows you to set up a tab to open with the IE engine embedded. If you have a site that is giving you login problems, when it is open select the tools button. In the dropdown box select the IE Tab Options. The problem web site should be highlighted in the pop-up display box. Select the add button to the right and it will transfer the web site to the list of sites that you want to open with the IE operating engine.

Now that web site will always open under the IE operating engine when you start up Firefox. After you login to that web site if you go back to the tools button and select options again, you can save all opened tabs as your home page. Now when you start up Firefox you will still have all the advantages of Firefox and those hard to login web sites will automatically load and sign you in the same as they did before.

Someday Microsoft will probably stop teasing Firefox and let them in on what they have to do to get around this obstacle, but then again maybe not.

I get this error everytime I try and use IE I can't use IE it wont launch runtime error! program:c:\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe this application has requested the runtime to...

you can try to re-install IE, go to control panel then open Add/Remove programs, on the left side of the Add/Remove programs applet click Add/Remove windows components, under Components look for internet explorer then uncheck it then click next, IE will now be uninstalled. Then reinstall it, just like previous process on Add/Remove windows components put a check on internet explorer then click next.

If this wont solve the problem, you can try a third party browser like firefox, download firefox on this site: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/, after downloading firefox just double-click it then just follow the installation.
